The other night i was driving on motorway and when going into 6th clutch pedal hit the floor and didnt come back up.

After a bit of fiddling found that the master cylinder rod had come off. When looking at this i found a tooth on the white plastic has broken and this is causing the rod to keep poping off.

As this is only a piece of plastic which is broke i dont want to pay for a whole new rod. Does anyone know where i could buy just the clip?

Ive circled in red the rod i mean.

It's tight (very if yours is an mjet) took me about 3-4 hours first time I did it. (I'm no mechanic) can be done on the driveway though

Evening chaps. I had the same issue as above so bought a new part from Shop4parts for £49 delivered. Rather than replacing the whole unit I've taken my new one apart as shown in my pictures and will be doing this at the weekend and doing the same with the unit in the car and just replacing the shaft bit.

Wish it had been that cheap here... $200 AUD for the master cylinder, all because of the damn nylon clip that had worn out.

Had exactly the same problem searched high and low for the clip, ended up get the whole thing fitted £160 as it was going to take them a week to get a aftermarket part, i know i prob got ripped but just need it doing quick. was quite scary on the motorway when it popped off. nervous for it happening again even with the new part.

I've still not tried my method yet and I've been led to believe there may be a flaw in my theory, it may lose fluid when it's taken apart.
I was curios so I vent out so I could have a look at that white clip but where is it? Is it down on the floor or somewhere up at theclutch pedal ?

Must be possible to get these 3D printed... Anyone got one without a master cylinder attached?

I've got questions :
-does the clip go on a ball?
-how big the the ball part on which the white part clips on to????

If it's the classical 10mm size, you could possibly use the part of a hatch lifter ( it unscrews 8mm thread); cut/break off the plastic on the original clutch rod, thread the rod; thread in the head from hatch lifter strut.. and that's it..

A lot of unknowns, but if i had to do it i would try.
Might not work

Also:

Do all the Bravos use the same type of master cylinder?
Maybe you could get a different one, and with minimal modifications get it to work. and be fail-safe for the future ( at least no more plastic clip).

I also wonder this if all bravos use the same. For my multijet I seen prices for this thing as low as around 28 Euro and that was well known brand TRW

I compared the ref nr of that TRW part and they are the same both to the T-jet and M-jet so I guess they use the same part.

Right I've fixed mine today. I'd bought a new part from shop4parts and today removed the white female ball holder clip that fits into the long arm of the cylinder from the new part and the old part. They are virtually the same except the new part has two location type lugs that prevent it from pushing right into the black rod. I had to buff these back and worked straight away. Just make sure you when it's located on the ball you then push the arm so the ball and clip are fully inserted and clicked into place. Apologies for no pics

Hi All. Am thinking of upgrading to a Bravo from my current Punto. Test driven a manual 150HP version. I find that the clutch is a little too high on biting point and not very mechanical. Its like either step in or it will spring out very hard.

Is it normal?

Does not sound like it. The Bravo clutch is smooth and easy to use when in good condition.
