Hey guys, I've tried searching for forum posts concerning the Instant Nav unit in the Bravo II but haven't found any that were relevant to my situation. So here it goes;

I recently bought a Bravo II 2012 with an Instant Nav GPS unit built in. Everything seems to work fine but a minor issue; it can't find any satellites. Even after driving for hours and hours.

So I've tried to update the Blue&Me system, as the latest version promises to also update the Instant NAV software (not maps). But every time I try to update the system, it is on version 8, it won't update to 9 or 10 even and so it won't provide me with newer software for the NAV unit.

Has anyone encountered this issue and perhaps even fixed it? Could it be that the antenna, wiring or the GPS unit behind the rear view mirror is faulty? Or is it perhaps fixed with a hard reset (uncoupling the battery)?

Hope you guys can help me, I fear the FIAT dealerships, they are quite expensive and want to keep the car for 2 or 3 days...

Update: I've tried to reboot the system by pressing and holding the back/escape key on the NAV unit for longer than 8 seconds, it rebooted but it's still not seeing any satellites.

Update2: I'm also going to try to set the language to English and then try to update the Blue&Me via Blue&Me.net. Perhaps it's not available in Dutch or something. And if that doesn't work, I'm going to try to remove the fuse for the system, sadly there three fuse boxes, so I'll have to be careful not to upset anything by mistake. I'll keep you guys posted!

You'll be hard pressed to fine many members with the instant nav system it was never really selected as an option in the U.K. In fact I'm positive it wasn't even available

Hehe I've noticed that, my car has pretty much every option that was available but the problem is that most options are not mainstream and so sadly answers to my questions will be harder to find :(.

Update3: I've tried to reset the system by unplugging the fuse for five or six minutes. Didn't work.
I've tried to clean the antenna and the antenna base on the roof. Didn't work either.
So in a desperate move I tried to update Blue&Me again, hoping it would somehow update it to version 10, which also updates the GPS system(First ever update to do that). But sadly no luck.

And then I gave up and called a FIAT garage in the Netherlands, they recognized the problem and said that it's the base antenna station on the roof of the car. Sometimes water manages to enter the system, rendering it useless.

So they plan to replace it next Tuesday, it'll cost me 65 for the module and another 80 for labor and it should work within moments of completion.

I will keep this thread updated, so future unlucky owners will be able to find some answers :).

Oops, forgot to update this thread. Anyway, the problem was resolved by the garage by mounting a new antenna base on the roof.

Total costs were around 153 euros and it is working perfectly now!
