do you suffer from the dreaded sticky gear lever can't seem to move it side to side well you need to get your tool box out and grab a 10mm spanner some copper grease and some fine metal sanding paper (emery cloth)

first find the nut on top of the gearbox that attaches the gear selection cables to the box 10mm undo nut watching out for the spring and also the 2 plastic sleeves when undone gently tap the bolt through the rear can let should come with it now the bolt needs to be sanded a little as it's very tight in the sleeves once done grease up then replace all back in remembering to put the plastic sleeves there tighten nut up so it's not too tight as it's a nylon locknut all finished
you might have to do this a couple of times to get it right but no expensive shop fees saying they need to change cables etc

Hi, I am currently facing this problem when shifting the gear to right side on free gear. It just stuck and need to push back to center, my mech says need to replace both the cables.
May I ask what you mentioned above is located inside the car below the gear stick correct?

Thank you so much

yep there in the engine bay connected via ball joints to the top of the gearbox below the brake fluid reservoir

Hi, do I access from the top of the engine bay or must I lift up the car and access from the bottom?

Thank you so much

Hi, do you have a photo to show which 10mm bolt to take out and clear?

Thank you very much
