Hi all, I've had my 2011 bravo just over a month, now noticed power loss in 3rd gear. Even trying to Put my foot down nothing, then it's back to normal again. Is this a common problem with these cars? Is it an ECU issue or anything else? Thanks

It sounds like an ECU issue probably caused by a faulty sensor somewhere. You need to get an ECU reader. It is well worth buying one as you can check your systems and re-code it where necessary. These vary from a few pounds to about 125 fora full software programme At this price you only need to use it more than twice to get your money back. Multiecuscan.co.uk sold me mine and I have had my money back many times in a year with several cars under service at home. If your car is petrol powered it could also be a coil packing up. Good luck. I am sure proper engine guru's on here will add more help soon.

Thank you! I've noticed it's doing it all gears now, it's just weird. Yes it is petrol. I will think of buying an ECU reader and see what happens. I will see if anyone else replies too if they had theirs sorted.

Sounds like the brake light switch, it's a common problem on the bravo. What model petrol you have? Also it won't put up any faults so reader will be useless. I'll try find some other threads discussing it to let you read.

Just search bravo brake light switch there is loads threads.

Also part is cheap from shop4parts, about £15 and if your not confident to fit a garage should only charge you 30-60 min labour as it's literally a 10 min job!

Thank you! It's a petrol 1.4. Tried a reader it shown no faults, oh heck this is a common fault. I will look on the link you sent me and once again many thanks.
