Hi guys, eventually my Bravo 1,6 MJT as developed a leak, it´s coming from the black thing marked on the photo. It´s small split in the plastics and takes about 1500 revs before it starts spitting out coolant. What is that thing? Doesn´t look like anything I know about.

Thanks, well I´m not driving the car now as it spits out coolant rapidly whenever the revs are above about 1300.

My 2.0MJet was doing from the same place last year. New casing was required, it was about 60 quid fixed but it took a few days for the dealer to get one (then in to my local garage). I can rake out the exact cost if it helps?

Thanks guys, happy it is just a minor issue to fix. First thing to fail at all actually, the car has 120 000 km on the meter and runs like a dream. Had it re-mapped when it was new so puts out about 125-130 bhps. Haven´t even needed to change the brake pads yet!

I had the same issue in my 1.6 mjet with 180.000 km on the clock.

Went to the local workshop today, not an authorised Fiat dealer but very good and have serviced all my Fiats and Alfas for the 10 past years. They couldn´t even get a price for the plastic cover, but were sure it could not be bought separately - you have to buy the complete EGR valve they say. Is that true? Where did you get your covers as this seems quite a common problem.

Thanks, Rikard

PS. Found it on Ebay, is this the best deal?

My fiat dealer had to discuss with the spare headquarter because they want to sell the entire piece. At the end, he was able to show they were two separated pieces using the Fiat spare part manual. Maybe I'm able to find the reference into the bill. Let me check it.

Many thanks but I took a chance and ordered from Ebay. Looks like the right part and will hopefully not be too much work to replace it.

:)

Happend to mine 2.0 mjet couple months ago. I could buy just plastic casing not whole unit. The price about 150 € Car had 145 000 km

Thanks for your replies, did you replace it yourselves? Was it tricky?<br />

My mechanic replace it. You could do it yourself if you have some tools. But it's all tight, not too much space :)
