Is it normal for the car in 5th gear to have a drop in power at 2k then come back on song don't notice it in any other gear

Hey Guys,
My 2007 Fiat Bravo 1.9 (120) has developed what I think is the classic symptoms of a Boost Solenoid Valve failure (sudden loss of power uphill, flat spots). I'm getting the error code P0238 (Boost Valve B). As a precaution I've blanked the EGR, cleaned the MAF and replaced the air filter too.
Now, I'm struggling to find the Boost Solenoid Valve so I can get the part number and replace it. According to a stilo guide I found, on early cars it was under the near-side headlight and "just visible". However I can't see it - can anyone provide me some guidance on how to find it? Which hoses off the turbo do I need to follow?
