Hi all fellow forum people!


I have a odd squeaking sound coming from the gearbox and clutch area of my 1.4 16v 2008 Bravo.. This only happens when the clutch is depressed and after a few seconds of idling... looked up a few things but arent 100% sure if its just oil level getting low in the gearbox itself or a clutch problem as I am not great with cars... its not struggling to get into gear stays in gear and there's no juddering or anything...

Any help or advise would be great!

Yeah thats what mine is doing aswell....

Looked up some stuff online theres alot about common gearbox faults??

anyone on here have any ideas as if its serious I am seriously thinking about getting rid as theres other problems I am having with it aswell.

If its only sounds when the clutch is depressed it is unlikely to be the gearbox. More likely the clutch clutch throwout bearing.

Thanks for this... was hoping it wouldnt be anything to do with the gearbox but you start reading stuff online about things and u jump to conclusions thanks again

mine squeaks also... more whe slowly lifting the clutch.
but in my case it's obviously the rod that goes into the clutch master cylinder.

so i will not worry about it until the master cylinder fails .
