So my cig lighter has decided to give up the ghost for no apparent reason.

Is there a guide somewhere that shows how to pull everything apart to get to it , so it can be replaced. On a 165 bravo.

If you have elearn it would help you out a lot.

However I have taken it apart to get to the USB.

First you have to take the gear knob chrome trim off. It clips out in about 7 places and does require a bit of force to take out.

*This part may not be necessary but I think it is required*
You need to remove your radio. Followed by removing the radio trim and centre dash part, there's about 4 screws where the radio was that you need to remove.

And if I'm correct this allows you access to the 2 top screws of the centre carbon trim that goes from the gear stick area to above the climate control/aircon. The other few screws to remove this piece are accessible from when you removed the gear stick chrome trim.

Now just remove this centre piece and I can't remember if that small storage compartment is screwed in or not, but it should be straight forward when you get to this part.

Assuming your on about the socket in the bottom tray?

Pretty easy to remove that tray. I've done it a few times to fit a USB port & AUX port.

First remove the plastic panel below the radio, the curved one (Just pull it firmly).

Then remove the gear stick cover thing (Again, just pull around the edge is should pop off.)

Now you need to remove that carbon ( i think) trim that goes around the gear stick and right up to the radio (where you removed the trim) it's held in place by 5 torx screws. It all just lifts off then.

You should be able to remove the 2 torx screws holding that tray in place, then just pull it out (you might have to turn it a bit to get it past the tags)

The cig lighter plug just pulls out the back then.

Thats great , il get myself a set of torx drivers and tackle it the weekend. I think its crazy how the cig lighter has died , the car has 44k on it and is 5 years old.

No worries let me know if you get stuck I might have a few photos.

They're all one size, cant remember which. To be honest I had a drill bit that fitted lol.
