*Mintex vs Pagid - Whats Better?

Hi all

We have lots of members who, when looking at brakes compare our Pagid range to the Mixtex versions which are available on eBay and various other sellers. While its true that the same company owns, and produces these - there are HUGE differences in the actual products, which justify the few extra pennies in price.

Mixtex*are sold as an after market, product and available though hundreds (thousands?) of different companies in the UK, Mixtex do not supply any vehicle manufacturers with pads. - We would typically compare our Eicher range to these parts.

Pagid*is exclusive to us in the UK, and are an genuine, Original Equipment Supplier. For example many VW/Audis/Seat/Skoda/Vauxhall/Porsche vehicles will have be supplied with Pagid Pads, on the production line.

We've taken a set of pads off the shelf to compare them, and see what are the actual differences, and why you should choose Pagid from EuroCarParts*

On the left you have the contents of the Pagid box
• With OEM shims
• With Bolts
• With accessories
• Material “PA660”
• OE Tampon branding
• Different R90 numbers

On the right, the Mintex pads:
• Aftermarket shims
• With Bolts
• No accessories
• Material “M1109/1 GF”
• Ink jet branding
• Different R90 number

There are 3 obvious differences,*
> Firstly the R90 approval number is different - meaning these passed a different test than the Pagid ones - If these were the same product they would have the same code stamped here.

> Shims - Where a car uses shims, if you don't replace these, or they are not of the highest quality you risk a non-perfect contact and then the problems associated, such as pad squeal or uneven wear, although not the end of the world, the few extra pennies make life easier when fitting them, and peace of mind knowing the complete setup is new and has been replaced

> Most importantly, Material code - TMD, the manufacturers of Pagid and Mixtex have hundreds of different materials, each have different characteristics depending on the vehicle, brand value and if applicable the vehicle manufacturers specification. This shows that the friction material, is different on the Pagid range, than the cheaper Mixtex pads. Quite interestingly, we have 1 set of Pagid pads in stock with 2 different materials! Why? One of them is designed for the general public, and have been formulated while working with VW for that part, The other is a modified compound, especially for taxis which do an abnormal about of brake use stop, starting and holding the brakes at the traffic lights. - The vehicle? - The trusted VW Sharan (aka Galaxy)

Hopefully, this makes it clear, that the Pagid pads are or a higher quality than the Mintex products, and if you want a genuine, Original Equipment Quality Pad, then Pagid is the best choice! (in our opinion*)

to back this up, don't forget that you can get an extended 25 month / 25,000 mile warranty when you buy Pagid pads and Discs - Simply register here:*http://www.pagid.com/en/terms-and-conditions-uk

Also worth checking out the price of OE FIAT pads. Not overly pricey, and they come complete with new retaining spring clips and caliper bolts...

If you have a 165...

Don't bother ringing fiat.

I rang last week. Pads and discs all around.

£458 quid!

I kid you not!

ECP are getting a visit!
