Thinking of buying a 1.4 active Sport Bravo (I know its not the one to have but my teenage kids can drive it with low insurance)
A quick bit of research on line suggests that its a question of when, not if, the 6 speed box will fail, either catastrophically or at the least noisy bearings....

Is there really such a high chance of failure???!!! Looks as if the box can be overhauled for around £700 if caught in time.....Seems a shame to be put off such a nice car for gearbox worries....

The 1.4 (non-turbo) uses the C514 transmission and that shouldn't be problematic.
The 1.9 120 and 1.9 150 Multijet aswell as the 1.6 105 and 120 Multijet uses the C530 transmissions (with 5 or 6 speed) and these are also problem free.
The 120 and 150 T-Jets use the M32 transmission, which can be problematic (my own has been repaired).
The 2.0 165 Multijet uses the F40 transmission (according to the link regarding the Lancia Delta).

Description of the 1.6 Multijet
Description of the 1.4 16V, 1.9 120 and 150 Mjet
I know this is from a description of the Lancia Delta, but it uses the same engines and transmissions as the Bravo and describes the 1.4 120 and 150 Tjet.
