LED white lights? possibly blue lights?

How did you go about mounting the drivers?

One is cable tied and stuck with double sided tape to inner wing, other is cable tied and double sided tape to bar that goes between slam panel and inner wing, though I will probably move them at some point.

Need to adjust the beam pattern though as although there's a nice blue/green glow on everything I drive past there's no actual light on the road so god only knows what is its like to oncoming traffic

How did you get on with yours?

Just fitted the K&N filter, took a couple of pics along the way to help anyone else interested in doing it

1. Crack the drivers side front wheel nuts (removing wheel isnt necessary but it makes access a bit easier), jack up and remove **AXLE STANDS SAVE LIVES**

2. If you choose to, remove the wheel to get to the splashguard screws. There's 5 in total, 2 at the back of the inner wing and 3 along the edge of the wheel arch, Philips screwdriver sorts these.

3. Pull the Splashguard aside or stand on your head and look under the bumper and you will see a round box tucked right at the front, this is the airbox,
loosen the 3x7mm bolts and give it a pull, then remove the filter element.

4. Compare your old and new filters to make sure they are the same and insert the new filter back into the airbox, reattach the cover and tighten the 3 bolts, move the splashguard back into place and screw back on, refit the wheel and Boabs yer mothers brother!

After putting it back together I ran the engine for about 10 mins to let the ecu adjust to the change in airflow, probably not necessary but where,s the harm

total time including dodging snowflakes about 30 mins

Thanks for the air filter guide mate!
I've had the K&N Filter knocking about a while now, I was just going to get it fitted for me at the next service but now I think I'll have a go myself following your guide.

No problem, good luck and let us know how it goes

Looks good!

I had a friend a check my lights on approach and he said they were fine, no dazzle or anything so thats a good start!

As for side lights i put these in http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380628989761?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

which gave me this (left)

Looks better but sadly they throw up a error so ill have to get some different ones
You don't need new led lights, just buy these. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=171669364896

Plug one end into where the bulb goes. Plug the bulb into the ther end. Pop bulb back In. Hey presto. No error lights

Don't worry you can thank me later :)

I shall thank thee now, thank you.

For the price of them + the lights its cheaper just to get the ones that dont show up faults -.-! :bang:

Next up, LED white interior ceiling lights and blue dash lights where they can be changed!

Not overly impressed with the light output of the LED (left) over the standard light (right)

Try SMD type instead .far superior lumen output .

Don't go for cambus error free LED's, firstly they don't always work. Secondly and most importantly the resistors built into them are very subpar. I had some in that literally burned out on a motorway journey. I'm not even joking. They filled my light housing with smoke and nearly damaged the plastic surrounds to the light because they basically set on fire. My current set up is a standard halfords LED bulb which has no resistor built in and then a set of resistors similar to what I just linked you to. Been roaming in them for a year now with not a single issue. Slightly more expensive yes but absolutely worth it.

Just remember what a resistor is. It takes higher current, converts the excess to heat and supply's the correct vcurrent through the other end. They have to get hot to work. Do you fancy having that sort of heat inside your lamp housing. You will see the seperate resistors have a radiator like look to them. That is in order to disepate the heat properly so as to avoid damaging anything. Including itself.

Thanks for the advise!

Converters turned up the other day, fault free dash ahoy!

I installed some USB ports for the rear passengers last weekend, took the **** to get the cable from the front to the back!

Got there eventually but turns out i might be getting a company car soon -.-

Need opinions on a couple of things, thank you please

My car was originally booked in beginning of this month for a longlife exhaust which fell through due to the fitter being off sick

Plan was for a midpipe and rear silencer for £350, though the midpipe isnt essential the backbox outer layer is corroded and peeling and the hanger is broken so it wobbles something chronic

Had a busy few weeks but now things have settled down I'm looking to get sorted, sp do I stick with the custom LL exhaust or get a direct fit Ragazzon back box, quite fancy it though I'm not sure what its like to live with, most importantly noise levels, had Hondas with loud exhausts and liked them but bored of that all show no go so looking for something a bit more subtle and quiet when I'm driving normal but with a bit of grunt when I bury the right foot, any one had one fitted and able to let us know what its like?

And also any recommendations on a brake set up, always used pagid OE spec but fancy something a bit beefier...

JackFi has a Powerflow exhaust which looks and sounds the dogs dangly parts. Check it out in his thread.

thanks Matt, powerflow are pretty much the same as longlife, Jacks does sound nice but I'm after a bit quieter since I leave for work about 5am, though I quite like the crackle from it

Ragazzon, I've read are supposed to be quiet but slightly above standard though I cant find a good enough video that shows it enough, still more tempted by theirs than the custom one though

The beauty of a custom exhaust is that you can choice what sound you want from it. If you don't want it loud you could get 2 medium boxes put in.

Yeah custom is custom, but after arranging it all then getting let down at the last minute got me wondering if I dodged a bullet with them

When I had my GP (God I miss that) I had a straight through cat back and 4" back box that sounded nice and popped and crackled in a way the Honda's couldnt ( I was young and silly back then), if I can get that without disturbing the neighbours and not be uncomfortable on the motorway I'll be happy

aaahhhh I'll prob give the LL place a call tomorrow and book it in again
