Hi guys I'm new to the forum but have been a fiat owner for many years. Currently I have a 1.2 grande punto but am looking to change to a bravo. I know this could be mixed views but I've been looking at 2 litre multi jet but then I've read that the 1.4 t jet is great.
I would like something that is economical and has the power to carry the large ish body of the bravo.
Any views are greatly appreciated in trying to make my mind up. Thanks.

1.6L multijet dynamic Eco diesel but that's just because I have one haha depends what you want fuel economy? Speed? Accessories?

I guess I want to be greedy and have speed, accessories etc and with the Eco is that £30 a year tax? I've read so many differing view points with some saying petrol and others saying diesel you just end up getting baffled.
Thanks for the reply.

Thanks Tad-bravo, I have read a lot of negativity regarding issues with DPF which does put me off of the Diesels. How does the 1.9 perform around town? My journeys consist of town driving and A roads and country roads. Thanks.

Is that the 1.4 t jet Jack fi? I have seen someone describe that as a wolf in Sheeps clothing.

I have looked at a few T jets JackFi but was a bit wary that the 1.4 engine might be a tad on the small size for the size of the car.
This is not an issue then? Plenty of power to pull the old girl along?

Yeah with the Eco it's £30 a year tax in the UK. If you want accessories I think the dynamic and sport are the best as you get climate control and electrical windows. Sport seems more based around speed whereas dynamic seems to be around comfort. Look online for the stats for the rest but for my dynamic Eco it does 0-60 in about 9 seconds don't know why it says 12 online I've tested this. Top speed is stated at 116mph this i havn't tested!

I have the 120 t-jet. 1.4 and believe me it has no issues pulling the car. The 150 May be faster slightly but I had mine remapped to about 145BHP and it sure can pull. Plus I get about 40MPG in the week during my work travel, yet can give it some on the weekend. It's the perfect blend of economy and power in the petrol variation, when you drive it in and around town.

I came from a 1.2 Grande (via a 6 month detour In a Megane 1.6 VVT) and the bravo eats both of them for breakfast.

If you want specs go for a Dynamic model like mine, a sport model has better driving aids including traction control though so that may be a good option. Though the lack of traction control I'm mine doesn't stop me ;)

The 120 model will be cheaper to insure as well, I saved about £150 a year by having a dynamic 120 instead of a sport 150

Yet I still get sub 9 second 0-60 when I really push it

Whatever the engine, just avoid the 1.4 N.A. 90bhp.
DO NOT get the climate control.... try to avoid this ; sooner or later everybody with the bravo dual zone auto climate control suffers for it. I'll not go into the details .. just search the forum for climate control related issues.

I think most Bravo are good in their own ways, There isnt really a "BEST" Bravo. Depending what you really after..

I have a 2.0 and ive had it remapped real world mpg is in the top end 50's- 57-60 and high 40's.. 46-51 and its top speed near fully loaded with kit was 142 im sure i could squeeze more if it was empty of stuff.

aurick86 has a point about the climate control mines just broken. When it works it's good and I think it's standard on dynamic models so you might have to compromise if you do want a dynamic.

Defiantly & standard it's quicker than most 2.0d and 2.0n/a.

Now mines mapped it will give most cars in the same range a run for there money.

I always thought all the engines were pretty eco for their size/performance. Here is a quick table of performance figures on Sport models which I looked at before buying mine as I knew I wouldn't remap it right away;

Sport
Model 0-60 mph Top Speed BHP
1.4 Multiair (140bhp) Sport 5d 8.2 secs 127 mph 140 bhp
1.4 T-Jet Sport 5d 8.2 secs 131 mph 150 bhp
1.9 Multijet Sport (150bhp) 5d 8.7 secs 130 mph 150 bhp
2.0 Multijet (165bhp) Sport 5d 7.9 secs 130 mph 165 bhp

Guys, thank you all for your views it does help in trying to narrow things down. I've read numerous times about the dual climate control bring tempremental, so I think I'll steer clear of that.
It's great to get this feedback from actual owners and not some car salesman who hasn't a clue.

Yeh my climate control has gone kerplunk and Fiat want £1600 to fix it, no that isn't a joke. That is the genuine figure

A sport model with standard heating controls would be best for you. actives have the same heating system however they don't have Blue and me etc

Sport model is your choice as it's clear to see it now just depends on which engine you want

You don't seem to want diesels as you have doubts about the DPF's which is understandable

That leaves you with t-jets (2007-2010) either the 120 or 150 (though 150 is more poular)
Or the multi air petrol (140BHP I believe but same 0-60 time as the 150 t-jet) which is from 2010 onwards. The multi air engines are very good however there are reports that they're delicate. Especially with the oil's they need to be kept on top of thoroughly and only the best oil should be used. Which is common practice anyway however especially so with multi-air engines. Oh and multi-air engines are still in use and being produced in alfa's and certain Fiats too. So parts and spares should be readily available without issue. Should you need them.

Just took a gander on the old auto trader and found this http://www.autolinkmotors.co.uk/used-cars/fiat-bravo-1-4-sport-5dr-perivale-201501160217753

Full leathers, panoramic roof, no dual climate control, blue and me, sport model, 150 T-jet black

Now, I'm not saying you should buy this car but you should by this car,.

with my experience of Bravos this is probably best value for money Bravo I've seen. In fact I'm tempted to buy it myself :yum:

In fact I guarantee there isn't a user on here that can find a better bravo with value for money. Right now

The leathers, alloys, panoramic roof, cooler box/arm rest and all round electric windows are all option's on a sport model, whoever bought this new ticked a lot of the extras when buying it. This will of been very well looked after, it looks in very good shape, 2009 model so pre facelift (which are basically just gloss black trims and darker headlights) but none the less beautiful.
