Tuning Serious engine modifications

Tuning Serious engine modifications

Insurance is £400 for the bravo and £2800 for the mps
thats not too bad at all if thats with all the modifications declared but personally i'd put the money towards another car that'll give you the same sort of performance out of a standard engine but with alot more reliability , yes it may cost more in insurance in the long run but it will more than likely work out cheaper , how much is all the engine going to cost just out of curiosity

What do you all think of the new colour scheme? Thought I'd go for a bit more of a bold colour

I've no doubt the car will go well but will it stop?
No mention of a brake upgrade or has that been previously done.

Interested to see the results Tom. Gold wheels look nice too! Also considering bigger turbo but probably just go td04 13t, new manifold and tuning. Cant afford extras like forged internals.

I'm going to fit the turbo tomorrow, weld my own manifold flange to fit ad the td04 turbo has a triangular flange and the t-jet is square

Not yet, been raining all day here, and I've ordered a manifold flange of eBay, and I'm away for 2 weeks, I'm going to need to adjust the housing to suit the intake aswell

Unless you are a conservative sensible sort of person who is able to be self disciplined then driving around in a small car like that with 300bhp sounds like you will be bending either the stock gearbox or something else.

Presumably the whole point of the upgrade is to live dangerously and be flashy?

I am a fairly boring man, car wise at least, but I have been unintentionally burning quite a bit of rubber lately in my 1.2 Punto - it might be the 'drawback' of maintaining my car as it never did this before i began looking after it! Can you really manage 300bhp in your existing car??

A company on Greece called revlimit ecu tuning have had a 300bhp bravo running for miles on stock internals and gearbox, I only drive on weekends as I work away so running costs won't be extortionate, I've recently had a gearbox and engine rebuild too, the car will be very underpowered till around 3k revs so town driving will be slow

Make sure you check the internals, a friend of mine got a manifold off ebay and it was full of burs and flakey metal luckily it didnt do to much damage!

I'm keeping the stock manifold for the time being and just buying an adaptor that will fit the new turbo onto my manifold as the bolt layout is different

I hope your taking pictutes along the way ;) cant wait for the end result! Have you thought about a new programable ecu? Haltech are a good start

A very helpful company in Greece called revlimit ecu tuning has helped me out a lot, they actually do td04 kits for the t-jet, and I liked the tuning box as it can hold the stage 3 map, 100 octane fuel map and anti-lag map, I have everything apart from the adaptors and tuning so after this arrives it'll be the install then should be pushing 270bhp
