Hi all, new to this forum so if anything is in the wrong place try not to grill me too much.

Anyways. A friend purchased a Bravo 150T as a non runner. Up to now we have concluded there is no spark, no interior lights, no lock/unlock functionality, no electric window movement, no brake lights, no sidelights, no reverse lights.

Checked cam & crank sensors both of which are fine. Checked all fuses and connector plugs. Up to press we're swaying toward the BDM module...

Can anybody shed some light (if you'll pardon the pun) on this god forsaken car.

Many Thanks,

Tom

Have you checked the engine management relays in the fusebox beside the battery? I know it can be difficult to tell if a relay is blown but worth a try.

Is it actually turning over? Disconnect the fuel line and see if fuel is getting to it.

Yes it turns over and there is fuel being delivered to the rail. How would I go about checking for a blown relay?

If you are sure 100% that there is no spark i would replace the crank RPM sensor... you can find them pretty cheap <10€

can you connect to the ECU to read errors?
With the key to "on" position ( not to cranking) .. wait 20-40 seconds.. you should hear the throttle moving, take the rubber 90degree hose off and see it...
If the throttle does not move check that you have a 5v reference signal on the sensors.

Key to "on", connect with MultiecuScan select RPM and plot a graph of the rpm, then crank the engine. watch if ecu gets any readings from the RPM sensor.

Also ..maybe the spark-plugs are already wet and that is why it's not starting.

You'll need to get some spares or see if any of the other ones match and swap them over to try.
The reason I suggest it could be a relay is that one morning our multijet decided to just cut out 100 yards from the house.
It cranked over and all the rest.Checked everything I could, even connected up Multiecuscan which was giving some ecu error and in the end a mechanic mate discovered it was the relay.

Why the cabin lights and other leccies are not working on yours is odd though.

Yes the throttle responds to pedal movement I can hear it and I've had a friend confirm it. There are no errors regarding a diagnostics check.

No spark can also mean that the immobilizer is not being recognized/not working...
get a scanner on it.

thats a very good point.

Have you got the original keys for the car?
Perhaps someone has tried to re-programme them and screwed it up?

From what I can gather they are the original keys as there is no immo light flashing or code being given by the obd to suggest wrong chip.

If you get your hands on multiecuscan you will see a lot of different reprogramming options in there including settings for the injectors.

It would not surprise me in the least if someone has been messing around with some diag kit and managed to screw something up making your job of diagnosing the problem a lot harder!
