Hello

Just the other day i noticed i slight buzz coming from the steering wheel (obviously something wrong with the electrics) and gradually got worse and worse to the point that i can constantly hear.

It sometimes stops and i wont hear it for a whole journey or if it is making the noise it will stop when i come to a stop and stop moving the steering wheel

:bang:(n)

Ill try and get a recording of the sound, youtube hasnt come up with anything matching the sound either!

My brother said it could be a wheel bearing...but i find that hard to believe

Please oh great forum, find the the answer! :worship:

I would suspect the fluid level is too low

My 1998 sx 1400 did that. Went to the junk yard and asked him .He said check the steering fluid level .
Mine was too low due to leak
.I refill now the fluid one liter per 2000 miles having just done north France to sputh Spain journey.
Next week will look how to fix the leak

It is important to keep fluid level high enough ass the pump can seize up if there is no oil and steering on these things is very very heavy without power assist help .

Hope that helps

Dave
