Right bravo dudes, got the double din we are all raving about fitted.got reverse camera to hook up too it,

My quandary With the stereo it comes with a lead in pic which says camera inn and cam 12v and a black which to me is grounded?

The camera has two leads one from the camera which has video which is self explanatory, and the other a red female jack (power) which has a lead with a male jack to plug into it with only a bear red and black cable now the red would be as BravoCity has done spliced into another cable at the rear of his car and the black grounded.

Now I was just thinking and lookin around I can get hold of a dc (power) extension lead, which to me would be easier to plug into the spare 12v of the stereo and straight into the back of the camera,
Meaning I don't have to go hacking into cables which may cause errors and light failure?

Any advice would be top!!!! Will post pics now

Copy of me in so I can see response asap swift

Hey

Just been having some Issues with my Camera, How did you install yours in the end ? And where did you get your 12v Feed from ?

yeah that cable came with the head unit, mine are different to swifts :/ did you not get any cables?

yea i got some cables i think i would need to have another look, did u connect the 12v power black and red too the other black and red cables in the picture u uploaded?

im going to plug it all in tomorrw and check with my multi meter, as i have a cable that says, reverse in , cam in, B+Battery, ground. no idea what the reverse in would be :/

why couldn't we all get the same cables :bang::bang:

i think the main reason i didnt connect the camera 12v wires to the front of the headunit it wasnt really longer enough to reach so i hooked it up the the reverse light so when selected reverse gear the camera feed will switch on.

but now im thinking of disconnecting it from the reverse gear and using a longer wire just to extend it from the headunit to the camera 12v black and red wires.

yeah it looks like my cable is a stripped down version of swifts, im going to maplin tomorrow adn ill get some cable, i think speaker wire will cut it

i think i have an idea how swift did it -

he brought 2 of these below: Maplin 2.5mm Screw Terminal DC Power Plug

http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-25mm-screw-terminal-dc-power-plug-n82kt

and not using the camera wire which was provided with the camera he brought his own 5m cable and just simply plugged it in both sides.

not sure which wire he used..

yes that is true but if you look at the wire swift has, the one that goes into his radio has a 2.5mm female terminal the same as the one on the camera, where as mine is just 3 separate wires, so i am going to have to solder my own wires and connectors to make it look like swifts cable if you get me

you went for this one right?- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTORADIO...6?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3ce255253a

is it the same as mines? i think mines and urs wires might be the same in that case.

yes i got that one, i have the radio out next to me and its different to the back of swifts, i will be going to maplin tomorrow and getting 5m of this http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/oval-2-core-3a-mains-cable-black-priced-per-metre-xr47b

one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-25mm-screw-terminal-dc-power-plug-n82kt

and i will be using the cable i pictured before, i just dont know what the "reverse in" cable is for?

im going to plug that cable in the back of the radio and then hook the camera up and see if it all works, if so ill just extend the cables and pass on any notes (y)
