Hey folks,

Tomorrow I'm going to check a 2011 Fiat Bravo (1.4 T-Jet 120, Sensation Trim, 94000km; 150bhp versions were not imported here) to replace my current 2001 Honda CR-V. I've chosen the Fiat over a 2008 Honda Civic 5D which was my other option because it just looks nicer.

I was trying to find things to look out for in a used Bravo but couldn't find any such list. Could someone please point out what exactly I should look out for?

Thanks!

Iv not had many issues but check for clunking noise from the back as could be suspension when going over bumps or drop links at front, sticky gears esp 5th and 6th could be gear box, dial lights for below stereo mine are out, radio channels as ariel is not getting strong signal, tracking as well so will pull to side

While I appreciate the link, it does not answer my question which is what should I pay attention to when checking a Bravo (things specific to the 2011 Bravo) pre-purchasing it.

If it's got climate control, check the fan fully works and all vents in all directions work. Listen for an intermittent buzzing.

check to see if it still has its under tray for the engine bay, mine didnt come with one so now i have a collection of mud around my engine

I also recently bought a used 2011 Fiat Bravo (They Sport 150)

Firstly and probably something that could cost you the most is the gearbox. The M32 gearbox has know to be a pain sometimes because of a few bearings that aren't strong enough. So when you take the car out for a ride try drive in all gears and keep your hand in the knob to feel any vibrations. Vibrations could mean a gearbox waiting to break.

Otherwise it's pretty much like ant other car that you have to check out for. Dunno what the "Sensation trim" is, most countries it's just the Active, Dynamic and Sport models. So I don't know whether you'll have Blue & Me. Check whether that works by trying to play music off a USB or pressing the windows logo on the steering wheel to enter voice commands.

Thanks for the answer! I assume the Sensation is the same as the Sport perhaps? As we also have the Dynamic model but no Active, and from what I understood so far the Sensation one is above the Dynamic (Bigger rims, factory tinted windows, CC, Steering wheel controls etc).

Ah okay must be equivalent to sport model I guess.
The sport model above the dynamic has the following changes:
17"/18" alloys
A sport silencer (all other Bravo's have their exhausts pointing down)
Sport seats
Harder suspension (if you want comfort on bumpy roads get the Dynamic model)
There should be a Sport button
There should also be a ASR button

I don't have climate control just normal AC. Guessing over there in a hotter climate that might've been a standard, otherwise it's a optional extra on most other Bravo's just as the sunroof is.

Are you in our Whatsapp group of Bravo owners in Israel?
I think we can help you in most of your questions,

I would check mostly the Clutch and the Timing belt, also - the Engine mount/s and the flywheel (who lucky for me worth around 5500 and were replaced under warranty (which ended a month later).

If the car is still in warranty, and overall everything looks good (clutch and timing are ok), as it may end in the next month and some parts may be replaced under warranty.

Good luck.

Oh, in that case I think the Sensation is something different. (That, or the Active is the Dynamic for us, and the Dynamic is Sensation)
16" alloys, standard exhaust and regular seats as far as I can tell.

No, I'm not in the group unfortunately.
I'll be checking the car later today, and it's from Albar (the car park).
I'll check all I can myself, and then take it to a garage for inspection.
Albar provide a 1 year warranty of their own, afaik.

The sport model isn't above the Dynamic. The dynamic comes with the dual
Climate, arm rests, all around electric windows, cooler box, alloys, privacy glass blue and me,

Basically everything the sport has and more minus the sport alloys and styling.

My sport just comes minus the dual climate......otherwise I have everything you mentioned above

Well, in that case I really don't know what the Sensation compares to.
Has to be the invention of the local importer.

They would of been optional extras when car was new.the dynamic is the only model that gets all these as standard.

That's weird..... Would never expect the Sport model to come standard without electric windows at the back???? Think it was marketed differently here in South Africa. All the Sport models have the full package besides CC and panoramic sunroof.

Indeed it is weird but true. I'm sure someone with a sport model will confirm they don't have electric rear windows. It just wasn't standard. You could pay extra for them though, as well as the dual climate, arm rest, cooler boxes etc.

I confirm about the windows, but then again I have the dual A/C as a standard, as well as the armrest and all the other comfort stuff, so it's really local dealers' decision, don't see the point in comparing since there is no pre-defined standard.
