Hi All

Over the last 4-5 months i have been plagued by sudden losses of power from the engine (2011 Bravo 1.9 MJet) and despite being booked into the dealer for the 5th time in as many months this Friday, I am not confident in their ability to fix whatever the issue is and would like some advice / suggestions to give them what to look for.

Essentially, when you press the accelerator, you get no power from the engine, despite getting revs. Generally this happens more often than not in 3rd gear and is complimented by a noticeable movement in the front of the car which i assume is the clutch plate depressing. I have found in the last few weeks that when i feel this happening, if i shift into 1st and floor the accelerator, the car will approach 5-5.5k revs and suddenly kick back into life.

The dealer have had the car back 4 times now and i have been told variously that i have had faulty mass air flow, filters, egr etc and they have all been replaced or cleaned and that when the mechanics take the car out they can find no problem but the issue just keeps coming back.

Any advice appreciated!

If this is not happening always maybe it's a slave cylinder problem.

Pedal feels ok when this is happening?
