Question?

Im aware that the headunit has currently Windows CE 6.0 is that the same as HTC HD2 which runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional ? If so I think it may be possible to Install Android 2.2.1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gqedm-sUBc8

Android 2.2.1 on the headunit would be awesome I think!

Reading just briefly from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Embedded_CE_6.0 (yes I know it's wikipedia but there is truth to it) it was a base for Windows Phone 7, but however at the bottom of the page it shows Windows Mobile to be a different platform to Windows Embedded. So maybe you'll have a better chance finding out how to run Android on a Windows Phone 7?

EDIT: Found more or less what you're looking for, didn't read through the whole thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057216

I think Ill pass doing this Project since I dont have the time, However I purchased the:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTORADIO...6?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3ce255253a

Im aware that its currently running windows CE 6.0 might be able to install android on it, using a duel boot up. But unsure if the headunit is not powerful enough to run Android maybe 2.4 might work.

Also found that I can install iGo-Primo which seems pretty good Satnav Software, which works with Windows CE.

So will update you about the headunit soon.

I purchased this one, got it wednesday this week! Didn't pay that price, little bit less. And I have to say it's good for what it is!

UI, is the best I've seen for these aftermarket ones. Most of the other Bravo ones just look disgusting.

I installed iGo Primo 2.4 (9.6) on it today, good satnav, much better than the igo8 it came with.

It's pretty quick, starts up in a few seconds! Radio works as expected and the audio quality to me sounds the same as the original. Good HU, would recommend. Would upload pictures but none on me at the minute.

Build quality, well for a china unbrand, is pretty good. Only issue I had installing was the amount of cables behind because it's modular. And the big canbus decoder, you kind of have to perfectly get it into place to slide the dam thing in. Favourite feature though, bluetooth calling. Works perfectly with my iphone! Wired the USB port to an extension which I mounted next to the cigarette lighter.

Is the sat nav system displayed through the screen of the unit?and like a pic to see how it's displayed quality of screen lol.

The only thing that concerns me with these is sound quality.

I've seen these launched in the bin before because the quality is just not upto spec vs Alpine, JVC, Pioneer etc etc

In short - does it sound quality?

To me, exactly the same as the original. Don't hold me too it, we'll see if BravoCity backs me up when he gets his, but to me, no difference!

Mate I think we are all dying to see how it looks in situ lol ☺

Sorry, busy day. Got some day fitted photos and swift your satnav photos however had to take those just so its dark.

(on a side note one of my favourite things is the buttons/dials are red LEDs so match the header controls that i changed from orange to red, although some photos makes it look orange, its red.)

If the images are sideways click em

Bluetooth call

Radio

iGo primo 2.4

:D finds me food on a regular basis

Should note, i changed the theme in the settings to always use the night theme. Prefer the darker grey. Hate the daytime blue/yellow colour

How did you access the lamps behind the buttons to change it too red?nice touch

For the heater controls? Strip out the HU, the plastic trim, the gearstick cover, the carbon trim and the little tray infront of the gear stick. then pull the plastic around the dials off.

I then took out the orange film, got some red film (from hobby craft 2 quid) and put it on the two right hand dials. Cut the heater section off the original film and put it around the temperature one, because it's got blues/reds etc. Put it all back together and voila The end result, I quite like.

I am all about looks and I totally agree with the red theme in my car would look sweet,

with the radio I got samsung s5,is that compatible?

does the steering wheel controls work as per norm?

No idea, it most probably is to be honest with bluetooth.

There's a USB port on it, which when plugged in works with ipods (brings up album art etc)

But bluetooth I would imagine works fine.

Steering wheel controls, i cant tell you for sure as I dont have any!! yet, I intend to put an abarth 500 wheel in with them. However, it should do as the controls are canbus, and the radio has a canbus decoder. In the menu, theres an option to customise all the steering wheel controls. So yeah, would imagine so.

Aha, I'm not on commission!

It's cool, it's an expensive upgrade and after I ordered i did wonder whether I'd made the right choice as I could find no one who'd brought one! Wish this thread had of been around a month earlier!

Yeah, out with the old, slide the new in. Only thing that will annoy you is trying to get all the cables and boxes behind the radio to slide in with it. You have to have patience! It will all fit!

And just over a week.

Looks really Amazing Mate, Cant wait to get mines :DD

Also near the Cigarette lighter did you mount some USB port? and 3.5mm Jack Connector.
