As some of you are aware I decided to plastidip my alloys black and then gloss them up,
Here's some tips to make sure you don't waste a can of black paint and half a can of gloss like I did. Grrrrrr

1.clean you wheel thoroughly,if you got tyre shine on your tyres that's cool it helps get the old plastidip off and dry the wheel completely.

2.I found it easier with the wheel off stood on a table or something to make it comfortable to do.and for you to get at the angles of the wheel.tip I found putting the valve @ the 12 o clock position and then rotating the wheel to see it has an equal coverage.

3.HUGE tip cut out 4 pieces of paper ideally the size of a 2p it's to stop the plastidip getting in the lug holes where the nuts go into and tighten down on,this is where after my first wheel perfecting it and then putting it on the car that the paint had indeed got in the lug holes therefore when putting the nuts in they infact twisted the plastidip ruining the whole wheel starting it AGAIN
**this is something not covered in YOUTUBE videos or anything like that***
So before you start prep, dry and put paper in whole where nuts go after each coat push the paper through the wheel and replace with new to prevent my issue.

4.for first coat I went around the rim of the wheel giving a good coat as this will make it easier to peel excess off later, and dusting the wheel don't worry if it's not even it will come in coat 3.

5.start on the rim again and then spray onto wheel don't get caught in one place this equals drip, just take your time.do this leaving 20 mins half hour each coat to be sure it's dry dependent on temperature outside/indoors,and turn the wheel remember the valve position to make sure you get use whole alloy evenly.and repeat till your happy for me 5 layers was good enough.

6.GLOSS LOOK you need glossifire it brings the colour to life if you want matt colour just use that alone if you want gloss you will need glossifier, application same as paint layer it up.leaving dry between coats.once done with last coat of matt/gloss leave dry and then you can peel excess off tyre wall.

I brought 4xblack and 2x glossifire
I should have got 6 black as the alloys inside is easily seen and would look daft just the front being sprayed so i have ordered some more to do this.

I know I may have missed something or punctuality is the greatest writing this on my mobile so sorry for typo's.

Nice work!! Was actually thinking of getting the exact same thing done to mine (black rims, door handles and roof) but my bravo is silver and don't know if the black on silver looks as good as the black on white

Right had a go with this stuff
Plastidip "smoke"

Wanted to darken down my rear lights as they looked like a teenagers face with two spots,
I am really pleased with the results to be fair and as ever with plastidip just comes right off let me know your thoughts,
