Hi

Ive just noticed last week that one of my passenger side wheels where making a squeaking sound, when turning left. So I visited my local garage and the guy told me that it could be dust which is causing the squeaking sound, he said that I would need to apply some lubrication around the wheels/break pads which cost me £33.00

I agree to go ahead with the lubrication of the breaks I have now noticed that the break pads don't squeak as much but only when Im traveling at low speeds foot off the gas I can hear it squeaking quietly?

Does it require more Lubrication? Or is it something else?

It could be a problem with the sliders in the callipers. I had a problem where one of mine had rusted slightly and wasn't releasing the break pad off the disc properly. A bit of working with wd40 sorted it

It's not just a FIAT. It's a way of life.

I read somewhere that you should not spray wd40 on your break pads? That it can damage the lubrication on the breaks? Also Ive noticed that the Wheels Squeal like hell the more Im driving only when I apply the breaks the Squeal stops then as I move off I can hear it again.

Nah I didn't mean squirt WD40 on the pads. I mean take everything apart and inside the calumets are sliders to push the Pistons to the brake pads to make a connection. Loosen those Pistons behind the pads so they don't hold the pads on the disc after the brakes come off.

Hi
Sounds like a sticking piston to me, as already said take off and clean your calipers, do both sides and maybe change the pads at the same time using a quality part such as mintex etc don't be tempted to fit performance pads as under normal driving conditions these can glaze and become very noisy.
Cheers Ian

I had a look under the car and noticed that the front passenger brake sensor was broken, It could be that the brake pad require changing?
