Hi,
I own a Bravo T-Jet Sport 2007, I've had 2 great years of driving it until now!
Main dealer garage is advising that ECU needs replacing/repairing and could cost £1000, actual estimate to follow on Monday! I would like to know if any if you think it is the ECU as I don't want to spend out and it not be that, what you think it could be, or if it is worth repairing? Here is what is wrong with it:
Car won't start
With ignition on lights flutter and even that shuts off eventually!
Esp warning light
Hill start warning light
Air bag warning light
Engine management light!
Radio works!!
When jump started it revs to Max and stays there.

It was a rainy day when it all went wrong and when we opened the bonnet the seal between bonnet and windscreen had come away and there was a lot of water in engine.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi sorry to hear this about your Bravo...

There could be 2 things which you can do:

1) Check if the ECU needs to be reprogrammed again ?
2) New ECU

But since you said that there was some type of water damage could be that the ECU has become damaged from the water.

And when you check the basics as proposed above, don't rush it with changing the ECU. Chances are it only needs reprogramming, which is several times cheaper than buying a new one. I had a similar issue with my Airbag ECU - it was reprogrammed for 1/5 the money of a new one.
