I had a look at Thai thread last week. And apparently on auto express website the fiat bravo and fiat sedici are being discontinued and being replaced by a new member of the 500 family. Hope they will build a 500 hatchback or estate. I don't think we could handle another bubble car

It's not just a FIAT. It's a way of life.

The 500X will replace the Sedici. It goes on sale late this year, possibly early 2015 in the UK. However the Bravo, according to some sources, will be more of a budget offering, which fits in with the above article saying it'll be built in Turkey - a cheaper option to Italy where the current Bravo was produced.

Whether we get all 3 variants of the new Bravo family remains to be seen. Would make sense as they could take on Dacia with one family of cheaper models, but then I dunno if the sedan version would be deemed a potentially big enough seller to be launched in right-hand-drive format. I guess that depends how well-received the Linea & other saloons have been in other RHD markets - if Australia etc have it then it won't hurt shipping some to the UK, but they won't make RHD saloons just to sell in the tiny numbers the UK buys them in.

Can't see a budget hatch & estate doing Fiat any harm in the UK though - The Stilo MultiWagon estate was arguably better received than the hatches!

As an aside, I reckon they'd be nuts to axe the Punto badge in favour of another 500 version. It's claimed the 500X is the last 500 version (thank God) but should a Punto become a 5dr 500, I reckon they'd have to play a blinder with styling to make it A) fit in with the rest of the 500 range and B) still appeal to the male buyers that bought the Puntos.

All manufactures are dropping large uneconomical engines. They're having to due to EU regs and people buying with the cost of RFL in mind. My 1.6 MJ out performed a lot of other 2.0 diesels in performance all round. Engine CC is meaningless these days tbh due to the way engine tech has advanced.

This explains alittle why they dropping larger engines and mostly going with turbo's

I'm sad to see it go, it is my first car and I wanted to have it as soon saw it for first time. When I saw 1.6 mjtd characteristics high torque on low rpm, low consumption I knew I have to try it, friend hooked me up with a test drive with one from its customers car when it was on scheduled service,... soft steering, clutch and brake was total tipping point against golf5. In a 2 months time I had it... Best part only 56.5mpg consumption and that is calculated!
Unfortunately last Friday first problems emerged, some strange whushhhhing noise while accelerating an a bit sleepy if I think of it... I hope that it is nothing alarming and terminal.
Bravo is perfect car only a bit bigger rear window and a bit better suspension would make it legendary:) I guess that next one should be something between bravo, dart and guilietta.
