Any way to prevent the common problems?
Just good maintenance, if it's going to go, there's no way of stopping it without getting the bearing replaced. It happens to people that drive their car like old ladies and to those that rag it around like it's formula 1. There's no way to avoid it. I believe there's an upgradeable bearing but it's costly to do. The only thing I can advise which I did myself is get the transmission oil changed. Other than that, just keep an ear on it, if it starts making a noise get it checked out. Not every box goes wrong though bare that in mind, it's still a minority thing, majority of boxes last the life of their cars with no problems. It's a common complaint, especially on these forums as people only come on here to moan about it. No one signs up to say "hi my gearbox is fine, love the car. Bye". You know what I mean?

I'm on 65k with no issues.

My pervious bravo was a 57 plate which I part ex in for new one,it had 83k on the clock and the clutch was on its way out but no gearbox issues.with all the talk of the big m32 issues it seems to be more about the worry of it having an issue and nothing about symptoms of it i am no means mechanically minded and I may speak for a small minority so bit of info be good

emmmmmmmm what kind of noise does the gearbox make is it when u dont have the clutch pressed it makes a dry soundin noise then goes away when clutch pedal pressed :( :(

Seriously considering a blow off/dump valve, high performance air filter and HID kit to start of my mods :)

(Although, not liking the £53 BMC air filter price tag)

What are your thoughts on K&M filters? Bad reviews but cheaper than BMC

Is it bad for the car if I quite often put my foot to floor until 4k or 5k revs? I never redline but do this quite often.. Haha

I never see any other Bravo's around. I like the uniqueness of the Bravo but I would like to see many one other on a regular basis to talk about them aha!

Although, saying that... When I had just put the deposit down on my Bravo, a neighbor a few doors down had a Fiat Bravo parked out side his house, turned out he has just bought one! Annoyed me because I loved them being so rare :p But he is an 80 year old that has it in his garage 90% of the time so it's alright :p
