Guys I need help again.

I bought these and they arrived:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFA-FIAT-DIAGNOSTIC-LEAD-CABLE-ADAPTOR-ENGINE-AIRBAG-ABS-CAN-ECU-FiatECUScan-/261288053270?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3cd5fb4a16

I have an ELM 327 cable and a KKL/VAG COM cable. I have tried both and they both work together with the red and green adapter to access the Engine ECU, power steering, ABS system on my Fiat Bravo 1.4 Tjet turbo.

But I need to access the dashboard department in order to check why my Blue and me system is not working. Here is a screenshot:

I have tried all the cables including the yellow one but I still cannot access it. It keeps giving me the following error:

ELM 327 needed check your COM and cable port settings.

I am clueless now. Is there something else that needs to be set or what?
The COM and PORT settings is correct for either cables as I can access the engine ecu department with both ELM327 and KKL cable but as soon as I use the yellow cable for the dashboard I get the "ELM 327 needed check your COM and cable port settings" error.

Help please!!!!!! I hope I did not waste money now by buying all these cables and nothing works for me to access the dashboard department.

Thanks

What did the scan reveal?

If you got reports of loads of modules other than engine, airbag etc then that would indicate that CAN is possibly OK.

HOWEVER - cheap Chinese ELM devices have a notorious reputation for incorrectly terminating the CANBus and Fiats seem to be very sensitive to this.

Warning this is a very very long thread which only goes to point out the massive problems people are having by using non Authorised Dealer sources for their hardware. I'm not saying you have done this but this comment is more of a warning to others thinking of getting MultiECUScan. They can save themselves and the rest of us supporting the MultiECUScan forum.

Can you access any of the CAN ECUs? like the Body computer?..service reset?

It might be as simple as having to remove 1-2 resistors from the ELM327.
