Bravo Matthewr1990's T-Jet Bravo Dynamic

Introduction

So after months of looking around, researching, test driving and even a little fight (don't ask). I have finally got myself a Bravo. And what a beauty she is. It's a (57 plate), Dynamic, T-jet 120.

Goodbye Megane. You horrible excuse of a car!

Now can someone point me in the direction of a new brain. Even the climate control confuses the hell out of me LMAO. Gonna need a really good read of the manual.

Anyway. The car has a full service history and only has 57,000 miles, it had got a broken glove box but the garage is sorting this for me. It's coming with 9 months mot, 6 months tax and warranty, it's just had new belt's, water pump, brakes and two front tyres. It's in beautiful shape with no dents although there is paint work damage on the rear bumper. It's not deep, they're just surface scratches and no dent so god knows what they hit or did lmao. But it's not severe and barely visible from a distance, so it will be sorted when and if I'm ready.

QUESTION: being as this is a 57 plate car. Will it be able to connect to my iPhone 5 with a software update and the right connector?

So anyway without further ado here she is. She will have a name in due time

Good looking interior

Considering it's 6 years old, the upholstery is immaculate

Beautiful colour

So what do you think?
Re: My new Bravo :D

Hi
By buying a new car you would have to spend more then 1200. I was in your situation not long ago and I replaced the car that had problem, in my case that was a big mistake because I end up buying something cheap(due to budged) and not great which had many more problem then my old car. Unless you have a good budged for the new car I would just repair this one and keep until the end of it or when you feel that you can change car with less stress(and bigger budget)
My original car needed a new cluch and flywheel, the new one needed a new turbo and steering rack.
also anything less then 5K from Ford, vw, and others is gonna be a money pit(Ford less then the German).I had vw for all my life this is the first time that I have something else, and cheap vw can be a problem

Good luck!

Re: My new Bravo :D

DIY job is out of the question, don't have the tools, space, capability or confidence to attempt such a thing, I've found a back street garage willing to do it for £1,200 but I just don't trust them. I'm really lost at what to do. I hate this car with every passing day.

Have you tried Unique Motor Services in Darlaston? I use them for all my car servicing, pretty sure they will be cheaper than £1,200. Don't mention any quotes you have received, just ask for a straight price to do the work. Their number is 0121 526 6166. Ask to speak with Alan or Kash.

Cheers buddy, right around the corner too as I live in Wednesbury now near the IKEA. I'll give them a bell

Re: My new Bravo :D

Consider an after warranty market company. I had warranty direct. I paid £380 for a year. In the end they paid out something like £2500 for a gearbox rebuild and DMF failure on my Grande Punto. Glad I got rid of it after!

Re: My new Bravo :D

Right so a few updates. She's had new brake discs and pads all around and I've just bought a K&N filter. Even if I do want to get rid of her I can't help but spend money. Silly me

Ordered a few more clips too as I'm going to put my wind deflectors back in.

Update on the heater. It's still buggered but I've figured out a way to get the heater to work enough to keep me warm so it's staying like this for a bit. Won't be getting rid for at least another year or so. Wedding and new house have unsettled the savings account a bit more than I'd of liked.

New K&N filter will be her Monday. Can anyone confirm I can get it changed using jack and stands? I know it drops out the bottom and need to make sure I have enough room using just a jack.

Yeah a jack should be fine axle stands would make it a bit safer though, nothing will ruin your day like a bravo falling on your head

Haha, goes without saying pal. How many bolts is it do you know. Can only locate 2, it looks fiddly between arches, bumper and undertray

2 screws on inner wing , 2 or 3 up round the wheel arch then 3 7mm bolts to remove the cover for air filter

Though to be fair if you jack up high enough it can be done with out dismantling too much

Wait does the whole box have to come out to change it? It's not just a cover on the bottom?

Re: My new Bravo :D

Fitted my replacement K&N air filter today. Direct swap for factory one. And wow. Genuinely impressed. Didnt expect too much but it sounds better. It's more responsive. My blow off valve is louder, I honestly think I can feel it pulling better though that may be in my head. The sound and response is more than reason though. Happy guy

Of course I'm also picking up my new alloys Sunday. After buying them from mikem1989

They will look like this when they're on. May need to get me some lowering springs though, that arch gap is annoying.

Re: My new Bravo :D

Where did you get the air filter from and did you notice any increase in mpg ?
