General HTC with Blue and Me.

My HTC one x doesn't stream to blue and me but maybe the newer HTC one will. I just use a usb stick with my tunes on that way my phone battery doesn't get wiped out. :D

Upgrading from my iPhone very soon and looking at the HTC One, am I right in thinking this won't need an adaptor like the iPhone does? Will it stream the music on Bluetooth or still need to be plugged in?

Blue and Me does not stream via bluetooth and the One wont connect to the car and stream music via USB either. Its the way that newer Android devices handle their filesystems (based on Googles standards)

My One X used to act as a mass storage device but an update at the end of last year put an end to that.

So you won't be able to connect it to USB for anything other than charging I'm afraid.

That's stupid! So the only new phone that does really is iPhone's?

I use mine through the cable 90% of the time I'm in the car, tried a USB stick and that didn't work either. I presume it still connects via Bluetooth for calls fine?

May as well keep the iPhone just for music then! As a pose to getting £150 for it.:banghead:

It's not Fiats fault, Google imposed standard filesystems for their premium devices.

blue and me for calls via Bluetooth is totally fine (but it won't read messages or give you custom ringtones)

I just have a usb stick with my music now.

Which USB stick do you have? I tried a Sandisk 16gb flash drive and that would only find 3 songs and then stop.

I have a pile of them, mainly freebie ones from conferences. They are up to 4Gb. I tend to chop and change and listen to the same thing over and over so not to fussed about having all my music available all the time.

don't know about the ringtone bit but the message reader works fine with mine and I'm on a newer version of android (4.1). it notifies you when you receive a new message and them asks if you'd like it to be read.

as for making calls I've tried many phones and never had a problem.

I remember reading on the forum before that some members had problems with bigger USB drivers. I'm using a 8gb one and it usually works fine . Probably better to get a recognised brand since they're not that expensive anyway.

Mediaplayer in the Fiat Bravo only works with FAT32 formated usb sticks and only plays songs in the root. Any subfolder will be ignored as far as i know.

I have my library split into folders and it recognizes it just fine. The problem is that sometimes it doesnt even recognize the whole flash drive :D

Hi Is there an application to allow the HTC one to play music via the usb port.

No, there's no chance of getting it working AFAIK. Also, the lack of Bluetooth streaming is really annoying.
