Hey guys,

My sunroof whistles when you go over 60mph. Iv had a look at the seal and it seems that the seal does not go all the way down on one side.
Any ideas so that I can still use the sunroof and no whistling?

Yeah it seems that the glass does not come close enuf to the seal on the roof of the car on one side of it. It is about 5mm out.

How do I go about adjusting the glass?

So on closer inspection, it seems that the back left corner of the sunroof is not quite as close to the seal as the back right corner. Hence why it whistles on the front left of the sunroof. So it is the actual sunroof it seems, not the seals.

It does not leak but i would like to get rid of the whistle! Whats best, taking it apart and refitting it?

You can first try with the repositioning procedure, you can find it in eLearn. I can check it for you tonight if you don't have the eLearn.

It didn't work in my case however (had similar problem three years ago), so I had to bring the car to the garage and they reassembled it. It was pretty pricey though since it takes several men to lift the roof :)

Lesson learned: I clean and carefully grease the rails of the thing every spring; haven't had any troubles since then.

The rails visible either side of the opening? Do you do any lubricating of the rear runners? I bought my Bravo in Jan and this hadn't been done which has resulted in the roof failing and the motor and cables had to be replaced.

I use a straw to put some grease in there on both sides and then I open and close the roof a few times to spread the grease.

Hi there,

Thanks very much for your help! yeah if you could find it on elearn for me, that would be great :)

Sure, here it is (button A is the one that closes the roof):

After the battery has been disconnected or a fuse has blown, the operation of the sun roof must be initialized again.

Proceed as follows:

- press button A until the roof is completely closed. Release the button;

- press button A and keep it pressed for at least 10 seconds and/or until the glass panel clicks forwards.

Release the button at this point;

- press button A within 5 seconds of this operation and keep it pressed: the glass panel will complete a full opening and closing cycle.

Only release the button at the end of this cycle.

Cheers :)

I'm guessing regular use does it good. It's one of those things that's easily forgotten through the winter.

That should be posted in the skydome FAQ thread :)

I had same issue then roof broke, pushed motor cords through roof lining, thought great under warranty, dealer was havin none of it and told me possible £1600 bill to investigate just labour if not covered.
Stuff that stripped whole roof myself big job 8hrs, found the rear guide sliders are the fault one side gets stuck with ****e and drags poor design ,causing uneven axis on open close command then eventually pinion gives up in motor and the cords pop out.
Easy to check on outside of car unclip plastic covers on guide rails and move roof to open position then look at condition of the guides the look oval and white with rubber case. I will bet the rubber has cracked causing latteral play and drag. Mine had failed and one side turned through 90deg jammed only used twice in 2 years. The lubricant to use is vasaline or rocol anti seize. Hope helps.
