Hi Guys

I need some help and advice?

I am going to upgrade my brake disc and pads and want to know what to use? I have a guy doing all my upgrades and he sugested EBC GD setup that is dimple drilled, slotted and ventilated. Pads also from EBC.

for the best price and quality can i get something better?

then also all the SA guys, where in the western cape, cape town/northern suburbs area? I am having all my work done at topendracing sofar, very good service. :worship:

Sorry but have not looked into brakes as yet. Mine still going strong. Have a look if u can get pirate or original discs, then have them drilled or slotted, and then get good pads. Might be cheaper than EBC. Please let us know what u end up doing. Also maybe look in Speed n Sound magazine and call around first.

Larger discs will give much more of a difference than cross drilled or slotted (simple physics, larger lever), the standard discs are tiny so there's plenty of room for improvement. I don't know if anyone is making kits for the Bravo for reasonable money though. With the Nissan 200sx we'd use BMW M3 discs (315mm) and a company made adapter plates for the calipers. The difference was amazing and pattern M3 discs could be bought for around £70!

Let's get a proper set of brakes :).

I got drill and grooved discs for mine for 200 front and rear
Pads were about 80ish for front 60ish rear as I got ebc greenstuff pads

And i take it that you area happy. Is it allot better than the standard setup

buddy

contact powerbrake.

you wont be sorry.

they use slotted discs and ebc pads.

other option is buying new discs and taking them to Dennes Engineering for slotting.

the slotting allows for the dispersion of gas and powder buildup, allowing you to stop harder.

drilling also works but be careful... some discs crack eventually... i speak from the sperience :D

Do mintex do brakes for bravo?
My fiancée's father worked for them and they're on high performance cars I beleive

Whont just fitting bigger disc and pads be sufficient or do the drilled and grooved make that big a difference?

Bigger discs and pads will undoubtably improve braking, and most likely last longer if you don't change your driving style.

Drilling and grooving discs is a technique for racing and rallying, where you are repeatedly accelerating hard then braking at the last moment. Everything wears out faster, but if you only get a 1000 mile rally out of a set who cares.

In normal driving, not realy much point, except perhaps for bragging rights.

I've changed my front and rear discs for EBC Turbo Grooved, and Green Stuff pads on the front but standard pads on the rear.
Very, very noticeable increase in braking power.
However the squealing from the front drives you mad, I might try a different type of pad next time.
The discs cost about £150 a pair. The front and rear are the same size and look really cool through the wheels.
The Green Stuff pads are about £30 a pair.
I think for a £360 plus fitting costs, there more than worth it.
I've got quite a few pictures from when I changed them, i'll try to upload them for you to see.

Hi guys.

Do any of you know ate brakes and have you used it before?
What is the quality like and so on?

That will be great thx
I've put some pictures of my car on a thread I started called "a bravo called The Car".

I would of put the disc's pictures attached to this for you, but i'm still getting to grips with how to do it.

As I said earlier on they do look good and work so much better over the standard ones.
So much so when I've driven other cars, it feels like you'll never stop.

The only downside so far been the squealing from them. I've not heard of anyone else saying this, so it could just be mine.

I've recently changed the discs/pads on my Bravo t-jet 120 from the standard Fiat ones to Pagid standard discs and EBC Yellowstuff pads all round. The standard brakes were ok, but would fade badly after a couple of hard stops. The Yellowstuff pads don't seem to fade at all and have a lot more stopping power even from cold.

I've tried pretty much every combination of discs in the past and honestly think the grooved/cross drilled discs are a waste of money. In my opinon the best place to spend the money is on the pads.

But this is just from my experience - I'm no engineer!

on the Black Bravo i have OMP Sport Pads and Zimmerman drilled discs

have performed and lasted well, but the pads are abrasive so the discs will be worn out when the pads are finished

going back to a car with standard brakes is quite a suprise
