Hi, I had my engine light intermittently coming on, during the last service they mentioned it and it was an intermittent fault with the EGR valve. As we do with these things, if its not broken don't fix it. So i left it until, now the engine light is constantly on. As the dealer suggested the EGR valve i used the site guides to remove and clean the valve. It was black inside when i took it off.
I cleaned it up and re-installed but the engine light is still on. I have been running with it for about 2 weeks now and no problems engine wise, just the light is still on. I have also disconnected the battery to see if that reset it. Nothing...
The only other thing i was going to try was remove the EGR valve again and put a power supply (5v dc i think) to the valve and then this will prove it works.

Any other suggestions? Is there a way without paying garage fee's i can find out what the management light means.

Can get the kit and read the fault code yourself multiecuscan.net.

Probably isn't EGR. Or if it is its still faulty.

did you actually take the EGR completely apart? the pin that opens and closes the valve might be stuck open/shut.
