Hi guys, need some opinion here.

At speed in excess of 100km/h, my steering wheel doesn't turn smoothly. Can feel it turns in intermediate juddering. Can feel its very different from the day i bought it.

The steering still does its function perfectly fine but the way it feels when turning makes me feel insecure.

Anyone here faces this problem?

I'm sorry if I'm able to describe the symptom in detail. It's really hard to put into words.

On the other hand, has qnyone changed their power steering unit before? That's what my mechanic suggest, change the whole thing. But it's cost a lot

I was on standard rims when the problem exist. Today I tried turning the steering wheel while stationary. There was sound when turning left or right, even with steering assist turned on.

I had to change rims as my standard rims warped.

Any idea wats the issue?

How did your rims warp? Any chance the steering components could have been affected by whatever it was too?

To me it sounds like a bad steering column joint. Try greasing it up - it usually helps.

I think I may have the same problem. Mine feels as though the motor doesn't wake up when it's dead centre (quite a bit of resistance), until the steering is turned several degrees to the left or right, then suddenly it's smooth and easy to turn. It's something like there's a 'freeplay' zone where the motor is not active. It wasn't like this when the car was newer.

Does the EPS system need any kind of lubricant or greasing or maybe adjustment?
