Styling abarth front and rear badges

Styling abarth front and rear badges

Charnwood, an Abarth Bravo has never been made. Many people think it should have been made. There was an Abarth Stilo and this car is based on the Stilo so I don't really see anything wrong with making your own Abarth Bravo.

But there was never a possibility for a Maserati Bravo...?

Five years down the line, there has been no Abarth Bravo. Do you think there ever will be.

Even if Fiat do do one, putting Abarth badges on a non-Abarth Bravo will not make it one, just as a trident on the front of mine won’t make it a Maserati Bravo. It might make it a Fiat Bravo Maserati, though.

Yes, badging something it is not is IMHO not fair to the genuine owners of the original article.

We have a genuine Strada Abarth. Last real Abarth to be produced before Fiat folded and merged the Abarth factory/brand with the Lancia motor sport dept. and produced the world thrashing Integrale rally cars and then the Alfa Romeo touring cars that thrashed everybody in the touring car race series Italy, Germany and then UK.

The Abarth badge lay low for a while till stupidly Fiat thought it would sell a few plastic spoilers on the Ceicento.

Meanwhile those rare and precious Abarth grille shields were bought by Uno Turbo and Coupe drivers who cut the legs off and stuck them on there upper 'B' posts and elsewhere thus depriving genuine Abarth owners of valuable parts.

On the lighter side I have many after market Abarth decals which I have collected over the years every time we go to Italy. EVERY Fiat we have owned (except for our Strada Abarth and Stilo Abarth) has never carried the Abarth badge. However our caravan does have subtile after market 3D Abarth shield on its bum. This only came about when we started towing the caravan with our Stilo Abarth (which I would add never was or will ever be a genuine Abarth).

Thankfully for our Strada Abarth I have brand new and genuine original spares of all the Abarth, Strada 130TC, Rimto 130TC and Fiat Abarth badges. These are worth a tidy sum of money these days.

Please may I ask people if they want to "pimp" their cars with X-Y-X then do not use Fiat originals for a model you do not own. Unlike Ferarri, Fiat only keep parts supplies (especially trim and badges) till parts run out. Yes you love your car, want to tart it up etc. etc. but come 25 years from now will you still have it? Will you be deprived of parts because somebody else wasted them on a short term project/whim/ego trip.

Go Abarth, go Lotus, go Cosworth etc. but please do not use the original parts.

An Abarth is still a FIAT. The Abarth Punto IS a FIAT. There isn't really any differences between the two other than sported up exterior, better suspension etc which can all be bought and fitted to a normal Punto. You can literally make a FIAT Punto into an Abarth Punto and nobody could tell the difference.

Abarth badges on a Bravo are acceptable as long as it's styled like an Abarth would be.
Just putting the badges on it and calling it a day is ridiculous, kitting it out with performance upgrades and exterior work is not ridiculous at all.
It's creative. Seeing what you would do to the Bravo if you were left in charge of designing the Abarth model.

So if I upgrade my Bravo T-Jet 150 Active slightly, and then put the trident on, I can be the proud owner of a Bravo Active Maserati. WEY-HEY!

Are you comparing abarth branding to maseratti? are you serious?

Maseratti is one of the oldest car companies in the world with great racing heritage and great unique products.

A maseratti, is a maseratti.
An abarth is a tuned up fiat, so why shouldn't a tuned up fiat adorn abarth badges?

Stop trying to look smart and elitist, abarth is nothing more than marketing crap.

What's a maseratti?
I'm talking about Maserati. (One 'T', upper-case 'M'.)

Fiat took over Abarth, therefore people seem to think tinkering with a couple of bits and bobs and badging a Bravo "Abarth" makes it an Abarth.

So, who owns Maserati? (One 'T', upper-case 'M'.) FIAT.
Following the alleged logic re Abarth-ing a Bravo, I can Maserati-ise (one 'T', Upper-case 'M') my bravo by improving the headlight bulbs and badging it Maserati. (One 'T', Upper-case 'M'.)

The people who own the Abarth brand have never made a Bravo Abarth. Thers is no such thing.....until Fiat make one. Period.

Behold, a thing of great beauty:

You most certainly don't.

I have nothing against tweaking things; adding spoilers, side skirts, HIDs better brake pads, calipers, air filter etc, but if those with the rights to a brand don't make it, it don't exist.

You're not a stinky disease spreading mammal, are you? then why is your username Fox?

Right, it's just a freaking name.

Abarth is not a brand, it's just a name they give to fiats with exactly what you said: some tweaking, spoilers and sideskirts.

Stop being such a marketing dictator, it's ridiculous.

Seing as no-one can put forward a good argument for giving their cars a pretend name with pretend badges, and some seem to not be able to hold a reasoned argument without lowering themselves to personal abuse, I think I might just avoid this thread from now on.

Now then, where do the adults hang out?
