About 1k miles ago when I turned off the ignition I had a warning saying "Service Coupon expired" and after that a spanner symbol next to the mileometer.
This really doesn't bother me as I service the car myself and i'm not gonna pay to get the light reset.

The other day whilst I was driving home I noticed that the spanner had disappeared and also trip B had reset itself? which is annoying as I was using it to track how many miles I clock up from owning the car. This is now roughly 1k since the spanner came on.
Does the spanner disappear after a certain time/mileage? if yes, does that go hand in hand with the trip?

Or do I have a gremlin?

The spanner does disappear on its own (thankfully) as for the trip b, you probably shouldn't use it for very long term tracking. such data is easily erased when the battery starts to die and voltage gets low on startups or when you unplug the battery.

Trip B also gets cleared every 100 hours driven.

Ah thats answered the query greatly, and it would have been around that 100hr figure.
And good that the spanner disappears on its own without having to pay someone!

Cheers for the responses guys.

maybe its doing that Italian thing of just warning you the second before it explodes?
