Had this warning light flash up on the dash on the way home then disappear. Stopped as soon as I could and whipped the manual out.

It said I could continue driving avoiding heavy effort or high speed. Which I did.

Car is going in to the garage to have a couple of things fixed (brakes and slightly off centre steering wheel) on Monday so will mention it then.

Was just curious if any has had this problem and if they know what causes it/the fix? A new fuel injector?

Well, took it to the garage today and they said there is nothing wrong with it. Guy took it for a test drive and said he couldn't see a problem.

The light is no longer on and only flashed on for a short space of time the once, now the car shakes when idle and when driving there is sometimes a little splutter when I put my foot down.

Have put some redex in the tank today.

Anyone got any ideas?

Had the same problem today on my 1.9JTD. Had a service couple of weeks ago and had the fuel filter changed.
Since the service the car is sometimes slow with pick up on acceleration and then clears itself and today the wife the engine management light has come on.

I will be taking it back to the garage on Monday.

I was without a car for a week, but that was down
To the garages incompetence more than anything. It was still under warranty so put it back to the dealer, won't be doing that again.

Anyway, turned out I had a misfire in two of the cylinders. Couple of faulty spark plugs replaced and all is well again.
