Hi all

I posted recently about the USB port on my Bravo that had suddenly stopped working and the advice was to disconnect the battery (via the quick release) for a short time for the car to reset itself.

However, I'm worried that when I reconnect the battery my stereo will ask for it's secret code, which I don't have. When I reconnect will I need to input the stereo secret code?

If I don't have the secret code then where do I get it from? Will the dealers help? (I do own the car!).

All help appreciated.

Thanks

You don't need a code. There just isn't one. The radio is registered on the CANBUS system, so it will only work in your car. No problem disconnecting the battery.

Thanks NeilShep. I have a used Bravo 1.4 Dyn 58. I don't remember receiving a code for the stereo. Are you saying they definately don't need a code?

I was resetting the B&M by disconnecting the battery, and the stereo still works. I next need to remove the stereo inc. leads.

Thanks

Yes!

Then thats the best news I've had all week with this car :)
Thanks !

i've had the battery off, doesnt cause a problem as its as said above, its CANBUS. stilo was the same. head unit was out the car for 4 years and worked straight away when put back in.

the only time i have ever known it to be a problem with canbus is when the fiat HU in the car wasnt the one from the factory
