General Look what I found, new touchscreen navigation HU for bravo

We have changed the factory CD player to DVD+GPS player in Beijing, China.
and we think the dashbord and buttons is good as factory made.
It is easy to change, remove the original CD player, then plug in wires and adapter, push it back.
Blue&me is keep and ok, u can take phone and use USB stick.
Good news is we get a iPod wire and 2nd USB porter.
U can plug iPod directly without USB wire, and read the music's name from screen then choose one to listen.
U can copy the GPS navigation program in TF(micro SD) card and into right up blank on board, and choose the exective direct, the click the "Navigate" icon on screen.
and we can gaet 2nd bluebooth, with one dialpad, no need call loud for call-out phone.
Sorry for my poor english, I do my best to let u know what I want to talk to u.

If anyone know chinese, u can go to www. xcar. com. cn, and searth it. We post the installation and pics.

Hope u happy with it.

Do you mean that phone calls still work with BLUE&ME?

Can you make a video and post it please?

Can you give us a direct link to that chinese website's page?

Hey Tad, I think thats what he tried to say, the blue and me feature remain accessible, so as the original USB port.
I going to have a look on their website and before you ask, I do read chinese!!! ;)

Thank you, there are still a few things I need to know for sure. Most important of all is blue&me.

Blue&me might be crap in some aspects but it's still the best way I have seen in any car to call someone just by saying the name.

The chinese HU doesn't have voice commands and you have to get your eyes off the road to search for contacts.

I find it unlikely that the blue&me still works because if the Heaunit takes over the steering wheel buttons then how can the blue&me work? the only way to use Blue&me is with the steering wheel.

I hope you can find a definitive answer to that question.

It looks nice, really nice. I had some doubts about the touchscreen but it looks quite easy on the video.

However, did you notice that there are a few difference with the buttons of the HU compared to the images that were posted on the first page? On the right side in the first images there were two buttons to answer and decline the call while on the video and some of the later pics they are replaced with AUX and DVD.

yeah I noticed, though I think that the latest version is the one without the phone buttons.

You should know that those buttons around the screen are actually pretty useless, the only button there that matters is the nav button.

I wonder how difficult it'll be to route the GPS antenna to somewhere where it can receive.. also there is wiring up rear monitors and rear camera to make full use of those functions, could be a nice little project.

Will the car's USB socket still work? If not for music then how about for B&M or ecodrive updating etc. If it is just into Aux in of HU as in GP then it should still work fully?

I honestly don't see Blue&Me still working.

The phone functions were done through the original head unit that had a big BLUE connector into the back of it. And the original USB port is a custom connector from the socket to the old HU with a big BLACK socket.
This radio has standard ISO connector on the back that takes power and speakers and not a lot else.

The best you can hope for is changing tracks/volume/source and mute from steering wheel controls and the "voice dialling" will be pressing a button on the screen to activate then saying "dial 1" or something similar. I.e. next to useless.

Blue&Me is a Fiat/Microsoft product and other companies (bar TomTom) won't be given any information regarding its use or implementation.

For a third party HU that performs GPS, DVD and all the rest, while maintaining the original look of the vehicle - this is a great product. Just don't expect it to be a spot-on replacement for the original HU.

There's a video of blue&me working a few posts above. It's still working because blue&me is independent of what HU you're using as long as it's still connected to the steering wheel buttons, it's still working.

As for the connectors, the chinese manufacturer assured me that it's all plug&play and Blu&me still works.

Yup, the phone and the USB port are still there without any trouble.
sorry, we have not video now, but plan post a video clip in future.
The chinese link is here, w w w.xcar.com.cn/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=16469530, delete blanks between the w.
This post is my installation, it is so easy. Need an adjustable wrench, a T25 and a T30 screwdrivers, a roll of insulating tape.

When you want to call previous number in blue&me, does up and down button in steering wheel work in switching between contacts?

and can you explain what you did here :

The blue me is a aux input on the bravo headunit he has taken the leads to the aux into the new headunit like I said before you can use blue and me with any headunit with a aux connection.
