Technical Insufficient Engine Oil Pressure Warning

You can also get it throwing the car around. The 1.9 multijet used to do it if you took a super sharp (>120 degrees) corner ar maybe 20mph or more.

I love the search function. Almost posted on new topic on this very "feature" I've just discovered on my 120 MJet. Glad to see it isn't unusual.
Better check my oil just to be sure...

Hi I've just had the same thing happen to me. I have oil in my engine and mid journey my light came in and i had the warning message. Any advice?

if it popped up and went off sometimes it can be a false reading from the sensors. If you're sure the oil Is fine and the car is running ok then I wouldn't worry too much about it. HOWEVER, it maybe wouldn't hurt to get hold of an OBD reader, (buy one, use a friends or even pay a garage for a quick diagnostic) just to make sure that it hasn't threw up an error that you need to sort out.

In regards to other posts about oil usage, in my 1.2 Grande Punto, I never had to top up oil, not once, services came about and oil was still nice and brown and looked almost new when it came to changing oil.

However my 1.4 T-jet Bravo drinks the stuff. I absolutely assure you there are no leaks as I only park in 2 places for hours at a time and there is no oil in either place. I only presume the Turbo is a culprit in oil usage. I have to top it up with about a half a lire to a litre every 2 months. I do about 200 miles a week of moderate to hard driving. (Not boy racer hard, but I do put my foot down to get around traffic in my area)

Hello I am a new member and new user of fiat punto ( metan )
I've just had the same thing happen to me. I have oil in my engine
I need a help about the flashing message on board >>Insufficient Engine Oil Pressure Warning stop engine.
I check the oil and its full and clean, but every morning the warning sign is on and on about 5-10 min of driving and than stops like nothings wrong??Any advice?

Take it to a garage, have them measure the oil pressure.
If pressure is low, i'd take off the sump and check to see if the pick-up is blocked with any silicone, or oil sludge.
