Right , i was given some good advice on trying to bypass my stepper/ idle control motor but i am unable to remove one of the bolts as it has rounded off, the bypass sort of works for a while but i could only raise it on two sides. I now have managed to source a new motor for £120 but need some advice on how to get this bolt off, it is a torx 27 but this just eats it. I have no welding gear so suggestions other than this please

I'm not familiar with the part in question, but I take it there's not enough room to get in with a small hacksaw and cut a slot into the head?

I've previously been able to get torx heads out by hammering a flat-blade into two opposing "notches", but this depends on having the exact size of flatblade and it being hard enough. Also, if your torx driver is just spinning the head might be too far gone for that.

I've never tried any of these screw removal tools, anyone else?

Final solution I guess is to drill out the bolt. This obviously needs decent access to the head.

:yeahthat: Good advice. How big is the head? When I had to take off my friends callipers, the Allen key heads rounded off. Drilled a hole through the head and shoved through a thin screwdriver for leverage :)
