Hi there i own a bravo tjet 120 active sport which i purchased in december 2009, i like a lot of people have had a knocking/clunking noise from my front suspension since new. i am now trying to get it sorted by going to fiat, as its been in and out of my dealership too many times. Fiat have told me they are not aware of any fault with a knocking noise on the bravo's, only on the punto's. has anybody else been in touch with fiat about this obvious design fault? it seems they are just trying to bury there heads in the ground. if anybody has been in touch with fiat, what have they told you. thanks! a very annoyed fiat owner

A lot of people have complained about this issue since the Bravo was released, and to my knowledge it would seem that even through trying to fix it, no one has actually ever stopped the noise.

Mine knocks a little bit too. I don't mind it though, I just put it down as an annoying little flaw that my car has, but it gives it some personality :p

FIAT's have souls.

I don't mind personality on a car 10 years old! but not brand new. if everybody just puts up with these faults then fiat will never fix there design faults! i wonder if the new alfa gullieta has this problem? as it was based on the bravo!

Alfas had this problem and it was sorted by an aftermarket company making bushes and fittings for the suspension, the upgrade wasn't much dearer than OEM parts, I think they might do them for FIATs aswell, the company is Powerflex.

the guilieta's chassis is not the same as the bravo's.

as for the problem, the most common solution found by other owners is to lubricate the front suspension parts.

This only works for a short while as this was the first idea fiat had. think it worked for 3 months then the problem came back

My Bravo only 4 months old went in for the knocking, turned out to be the top mounts needed lubing, much better now but I'm still not sure it's 100% how it should. Piff...

Just got mine back after the same fault - new top strut mounts and new bump stops, but the rattle/knock is still there.

How many people have informed fiat about this problem as they still say they are unaware of a problem with the bravo's!!

Mines turned out to be a perished transmission cable holder in the front wheel arch that became so soft and flobbly that it was able to knock against the arch...try getting that checked. I've also seen people getting whole steering racks changed and this has cured their problem. Since I got mines fixed (under 3rd year warranty), I've hit a concealed pothole too hard, and another crunchy noise has appeared. After the experiences I've had with a certain dealership though (the name rhymes with Ernold Clerk), I'm just going to live with it. I digress however...get them to check what I stated above...although my non-Sport Active seems to be the only one which I've found that has been affected with the problem too, all the others seem to be in Sport trim. G'luck.

my Tjet-150 has rattle sound but in my case is in the back suspension and fiat is going to solve the problem by changing the shock absorbers.
There was a knocking sound in the front but they changed the steering wheel column and it disappeared.

My bravo is currently in the garage and i've been told my knocking noise is down to the suspension strut mounts, so there replacing them and hopefully it will finally be cured!

It wont.

Trust me - had that done and it still rattles like it's on it's death throes.

Mine, like many others, had the drop links replaced under warranty in an attempt to cure the rattle, which it didn't. Funnily, the problem seems to be a lot less noticeable now the weather's got better... It was particularly irritating during the depths of Winter. Bizarre.
It's typical of Fiat publicly not to recognise a serial issue, however somewhere within their technical support network will be a technical advice to dealers about this. There will have been enough feedback from dealer warranty claims for them to look into it. That doesn't mean to say that their advice will provide an effective cure though.

I have a case open with fiat about this problem and they told me that there not aware of a problem with the bravo only the punto
