Hi since there are a few drivers of Fiat Barvo with problems in lacking power, slow response of the engine, or no acceleration...I decided to post pictures from cleaning my Bravos EGR sensor.They are made before and after the cleaning. A few are missing since I was so into cleaning that I forgot to take pictures of them. A word of warning, some while putting it together I lost one of the bolts so I had to go under the car and take off the engine protection plastic from underneath to get. So be careful and use some sort of cloth to catch any escaping screws or other parts if you are in a hurry.I did that to my Bravo last year in august with 65000+km.If someone has any questions, please do ask.

1 : the images are way too big, you're supposed to resize them before posting.
2 : what product did you use to clean it up ?
3 : why not show how to get the sensor out fo the engine? that's the most important part.
 
I tried to make the smaller to hold all the information.And since I do not have pictures of the whole disassembly, I made some photos today to give you some guidance.
The whole guide how to take it apart is on the Stilo part of this forum. Since the metal part with the spring was not dirty, I was looking for the electronic part.And I found it on this web site, so I knew what I was looking for.

I cleaned it with an old soft toothbrush some alcohol and degreaser and I let it air dry on the sun for 30 minutes.

If you have had your EGR valve replaced (as on my car prior to purchase), is it likely to clog up again or is this just an inherent issue with early models?
 
I believe there is a big chance it will happen again. That is because of too much sulfur in the fuel.I think that one way to avoid it is to change the fuel filter as often as possible, so there would be less dirty particles inside which would clog the sensor, and to drive the car at optimum rpm, so the fuel combustion would be at its maximum. The fuel we use in the winter is much better than the one in the summer or in spring when the temperatures are higher, due to the additives and purity to prevent the fuel in this case diesel from freezing or thickening.
 
We had ours done at 20k ish, and IIRC they said the new part was modified. 75k miles later we have had no further issues with it (touch wood!!)
 
Mine was cleaned out by my trusted local garage, highly recommend them btw.
The mechanic said to me that a good blast down the motorway is recommended along with an additive or premium fuel like Vpower or BP ultimate.
 
This problem has happened to me 1 month out of warranty and my dealer said they'd be a complicated claims process to see if Fiat would cover it which wasn't guaranteed. Thanks to these posts i've had a go at it myself and so far so good! I was surprised at how clogged it all was so no wonder I was being overtaken by milk floats!
 
I had my EGR valve replaced... with a new gasket fitted as well (for £7 or somthing)... it made it a lot nippier then when it was previous.... my only guess is it had been slowly getting worse for months
