Hi, I have read through a lot of the posts, up to page 42 and tried a search, but to no avail.

Could any kindly soul point me in the direction of where the resistor pack is for blower.

Also, if it's on the glovebox side, how the hell do you remove it. Spent an hour trying to remove the glovebox, gave up because did not want to break it.

Please, any info would be greatly received.

Dave.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I will get down to work at the weekend.

To JTD_LIAM, they certainly don't ingratiate themselves do they?

They don't! It's almost like they want to be slated.

resistor IS covered, a starter is an electrivcal item so is a alternator or window regulator and they are covered. Wiring is NOT covered.

I see. But why must they be so anal about it? A 3yr warranty and one year AA cover is hardly groundbreaking to begin with, so at least make the 3 years cover a decent level. What sort of di*ks do they have working at Fiat UK? Do they really think people will stand for this sort of cop-out when cheaper cars offer 5 or 7 years cover. Unfortunately they can't really even say Fiat are 'cheap' anymore.

Not aimed at you at all T, as i'm sure youve gathered. It just makes me so annoyed when i see what silly rules someone at Fiat UK (or Italy i spose) has thought up.

UPDATE.

Armed with an iPad, showing this thread, and a determination to succeed, I visited said dealer.

After dealer insisting that the wiring loom was burn't I asked to see the technician who supposedly inspected the fault. Asking him if he actually took a look at the resistor and loom, the sheepish look gave him away, to which I said to the dealer, get the resistor ordered and book the car in.

Anyway, car goes back in next week to have the resistor fitted, with the labour, covered by the warranty.

After reading through this thread, I had the bit between my teeth and I think the dealer knew that I would not be backing down.

Just as well really, only got 5 days left on the warranty.

Happy days, Dave.

You know my views, either make it 2 or 3 years warranty not something in between. Fact is 3 years sounds better than 2 (even though its a poor 3rd year) but 5 years sounds even better!

However I do think longer warranties can be a gamble (daewoo anyone) and it would be interesting to see where kia are in 10 years time. My bet is either a huge global power or gone bust!

I agree. For all i know, from the 3rd year, Kia's warranty could be no better than Fiat's, though i'd struggle to see it being worse.

Fiat obviously need to do what they can afford, but i think making a solid & comprehensive 3 year warranty isn't going to do them much harm, given that they seem to get more slating on the quality of their warranty and dealers than they do on the vehicles themselves.

A full 3 year 60,000 mile Fiat UK backed warranty would certainly be a start. As for Kia, i think 7 years is un-necessary, but who knows, it might work.

I have searched the new & looked at brand site but I cant find any details of kia's warranty terms & conditions. Would be interesting to look at.

r.e. Fiat warranty....a bl*ody leaflet saying what is/not covered would help. Things that annoy me are like wiper motors...the motor is covered but the linkage is not so if linkage breaks then tough but if motor fails thats ok but the point is the linkage & motor cannot be got seperate....WTF? Anyone would tell the aftercare warranty a white lie 'yeah the motor failed'

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know where I could get a resistor pack for a 2007 Bravo? I tried eBay but could only find punto and ducats ones. Also does anyone know the Oem part number?

Many thanks.

Tom

its unlikely you need to remove the glove-box completely, and you are dead right about things breaking Very easily. If you get it right the box will drop down and rotate upside down. You have to do this to get at the fuses!! From memory I think getting the hinge pins half out does the trick (I think levering them to the side from inside the glove box is all that is needed), and then carefully opening the glove-box and pushing the soft open detent lever sideways to clear the slot in the glove box.
This may have involved removing a phillips screw as well. I removed mine for tow bar fitting and just followed my nose. I seem to remember dismantling much more than was necessary.

I used one that is for the stilo they look identical. Have had it for a month or so and have no problem.
