Hi All,

Had a nightmare of a day today,

My Fiat Bravo 1.9 8 Valve Diesel started to run very poorly, it felt like it was misfiring and there was loads of black smoke coming out of the exhuast!

When I pulled over and looked under the bonnet I found the left hand lower Turbo pipe had come off? I was quite pleased it was something reasonably simple and fitted it back on at the side of the road,

Thought that was it but after driving no less than a couple of miles more misfiring and black smoke, and the pipe had blown of again?

Then it went in to limp mode, and as the term states I did "limp" home

I have plugged my Elm 327 diag in to it and get the error code P0238?

Can anyone help I know the code means: Turbo boost sensor A current high, but what is that in real money?

Thanks for nay help....

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for your quick reply, I was wondering that myself having had similar problems with other vehicles, I might attempt to take it off and clean it...If I can find it!!

Hi Carlorff (sorry spelt your user name wrong last message)

As requested and to keep you informed,

I removed the Egr Valve (bit of a struggle) took me about 2hrs! and it was full of black carbon and sludge,

I took it to work today as we have ultrasonic cleaners at my workplace
looked spankers when it came out the clean tank,

Re-fitted it tonight (a lot quicker with the knoledge I gained removing it)!

The car deffinatly runs a lot better no mis-firing at all, Although there was still a bit of black smoke? I took it up the road and give the car a bit of a thrashing and the black smoke is not half as bad now,

Gonna take it to work tommorow and give it a good run,

The only thing that I would say is the car does not seem so responsive at the higher end of the rev range (like turbo lag at the higher speeds?)

Other than that at least the car is driveable!!

Thanks ever so for your help and input, Moonman5.

Hi T14086,

Fiat Bravo 1.9 Mjet Diesel Dynamic 2007 (57) 31,000 miles

At the moment the pipe is secured with 2 jubilee clips? I was not to happy with this arrangement so I have ordered 4 Mikalor W2 silicon clamps, these are wider and look more substantial,

I got 4 with the idea of replacing as many of the original clamps as possible,

Have any of you guys fitted, or thought of fitting the modified blanking plates that fit on to the Egr? what are your thoughts on this mod?

Thanks all!
