Can I prise the badge off the steering wheel? I'm wondering if it'll effect the airbag? Has this been done?

Seriously, the badge is part of the airbag, not a separate item. Touch it at your peril.
If the badge forms the weak point where the airbag is deployed you would be stupid to touch it.
People dont realise that airbags are extremely dangerous, you dont want them to deploy unless its a choice of that and head and chest into the steering column!

After some investigation in the Chrysler and SAAB forums I found that the badge is not part of the air bag assembly and that it can be removed.
So this afternoon I prised the badge off, no problem whatsoever, it's really easy to get off, in fact it's just a thin peice of pressed tin/aluminium, glad to be shot of it as it looks horrible.
Any way, now I have a blank debadged steering wheel and I'm developing and ABARTH badge with Kevin of Autobadges to match the tailgate, grille and wheel badges that he has made.
Once it's all rebadged I'll post up some photos for you guys to comment/critisize on......................

I really really really really want that steering wheel badge. Where can i buy one of those? From ebay?
I wish I knew that before I took the metal one off, now it's ruined, noooooooooo...........

Those are the rear and front badges. I want the badge for steering wheel. Just your last messages picture.
