well as most off you know i have had a few problems with my 2008 model bravo 1.4 active for thoughs that dont know hear they are

1. Car burns loads of oil 1l to every 1000 miles was told by the first dealer that my car is fine it was supposed to do this. YEA RIGHT. Anyway new dealer says this is not right and any fiat cars that do, do this should get the car checked.

2. MPG 6 - 24 city, motorway 24-32mpg. remember mine is the 1.4 active 90bhp. Again was told this is fine, my new dealer says nope it should be around about 35-45mpg.

3. knocking noise in suspension, again told by first dealer the car is fine. YEA WHAT EVR.

4. Exhaust gone. 1st dealer said nothing wrong with it. 2nd dealer said the exhaust has a hole and cat has gone on the car but i will explain why later down.

5. rear brake lights were not working but because the worning light was not on the first dealer like usual said there is nothing wrong. 2nd dealer said the electronics in the car are fried.

6. oil smell in exhaust fumes and through vents.

7. breather system was not in the engine.

anyway good bye fiat bravo  im getting rid of it. had enough off the problems and im staying away from another fiat. sorry guys but the amount of problems ive had is enough to last me a lifetime. I love the looks off the car, Its my first ever car and i know this might sound gay but i am going to say it anyway its my baby. Anyway I would still recommend people to buy the bravo just that i have had enough and do you blame me.

your problems (with the car) are easily solved, seems to me your major problem has been the dealership(s).

To be honest I wouldn't have the 1.4 unless it had turbo bolted to it which transformes the car 100 times over.

my car has been sorted with my new dealer but ive just lost faith within the car. Think i might just get a nissan or a ford or something and the list above is not even half the problems. the dealer was shocked at the state of the car he rang fiat up and fiat has edmitted that the car is a faulty one which aparently is 1 in 1 million trust me to be that one. So fiat is refunding me my money that i paid for it £12995 so im happy with the service but like i have said above i have lost faith in the car.

but there is one thing i am going to do before handing it back im going to take some photos off it,

And take it for a very long drive as a fair well gift to the car.

seems ashame that all fiat is going to do with it is crush it and recycle the metal to make a new car.

Bet it gets sold as 'approved used'......

Sad to hear you are leaving FIAT, but dont think Ford will be better though.... Each manufacturer has problems, just think of Toyota recently.

FIAT is just as reliable as the best of them most of the time, but gets it wrong some of the time. Its just the dealers that seem to be the lingering problem and the fit and finish are not German standard yet. You were very unlucky this time, thats all.

You may have a good one, may have a bad one. Have a look at Skoda's, I enjoyed my Fabia.

Either way, good luck with your next car!

bad egg then :(

all makes have bad eggs, even VW....sorry to hear you had so many problems...

sort of the reason i wont by citroens anymore

Sorry to hear that your Bravo experience wasn't great, But I would agree with everyone else saying that I wouldn't have gone with a standard 1.4 and also every car has its faults.

I had a Clio and it turned off on the motorway when i was overtaking someone, Had an astra when coming off the motorway the gearbox literally came to peices...Just bad luck

well at least i dont have to get the rear bumper fixed some idiots came and nifed my poor bravo when it was 2 weeks old. the garage told me not to bother fixing it just to leave it as they are going to rip it apart anyway, even though ive had the problems with the bravo it was my first car when i was 19 so i will deffently miss it (its always the first car that upsets you:cry:). Anyway i think im going for the 2.0l turbo d nissan qashqai fully loaded going to treat my 22 year old arse to it (it will put a big smile on my face :) god i feel like a teenager again LMFAO).

NOT just that my bravo upset me again last night it has blown the head gasket and clutch has gone on it. The problems just keep coming and i take good care off it i never speed always keep to the limits and i have only ever once revved my car to 5000 rpm it scares the crap out of me but i suppose 6 months after getting it the mpg shot down to 6mpg which should of told me then to get my garage to replace it but was just getting fobbed off all the time.

I feel sorry for you mate! It happens to every car brand, the "rotten egg" problem that is. I've heard countless stories about people complainig about millions of problems on a car that shouldn't have any! A friend of mine had a blown gasket on a brand new gold at 2000 Km!! Oh, by the way, go check the forum for the new honda civic (Honda is the best in reliability, correct?) and you'll find a post similar to yours...
