This may well be a silly question but, I'm guessing the Bravo uses an electric motor to assist the steering. Is it adjustable? Can the level of assistance be turned down mechanically?

I think it’s over assisted; there is no feel to the wheels/road. It’s like driving a blancmange!

I think the Bravo steering is too light . There have been a number of similar comments in earlier threads. I took my car in to be checked and have been told its normal for this car.(Apparently a lot of folks say so) It feels light - to me, when I go over the bumpy lanes areound here, it feels like the track rod ends are worn but Im assured all is ok.

All cars are different to the last one you owned/drove....fact.
It's just that some take a little more getting used to than others.

I drove a Teapot, then a B1, both for about 10 years, neither had PS/PAS.
The B2 steering feels fine to me.

Patience, dear boy, patience!

Just to point out, carrying out any modification to the steering will invalidate your warranty and possibly insurance.

I would advise speaking to nearest dealer or Fiat themselves beforehand.

I've owned lots of cars and the steering on the Bravo is over assisted. It's like my old Stilo with the CITY button switched on all the time. This in itself negates any feed and feel from the front wheels, I never feel connected to the tarmac, you can't really establish the levels of grip. I'd really like to turn the assistance down but having done some research, it's best left alone, I'll have to learn to live with it. I'm fitting Eibachs this week, this may improve the steering slightly................

I kinda agree, it's a bit on the light side (at least in Normal mode) but with the Sport button on feels about right to me. The most important thing I think is that whilst it is light, it seems to match the other controls (feel of the accel/brake pedal, gears and so forth) so I've gotten used to it.

Both my Bravo and my wife's Micra have electric power steering, which I think also helps.

Steve.

Maybe you could try bigger (specifically wider) alloys? I just upgraded from 205.55.R16 to 225.45.R17. Made a little bit of difference to the steering, it feels a fraction heavier.

My girlfriend went from 195 to 225 on her MK5 Golf and that certainly made a difference.

Other than that you do get used to it over time.
