I understand that the 1.9 120 and 150 are both shared engines with those that are used in the Astra. Does anyone know if you can use the Vauxhall/Astra oil in the Fiat 1.9 120 and if it has the same spec?

I am a member of the Vauxhall trade scheme, so could work out siginificantly cheaper.

just check the specifications of the oil,if they meet the specs laid down by Fiat then its fine

I've always used GM Semi Synthetic for previous car and in my JTD.

I'm a member of the Vauxhall Trade Club too. Really cheap way to get good quality oil.

Same engine indeed. Both fiat and vauxhall recomended oil grade is 5w30 fully synthetic according to autopart system at my work.

Thats interesting as im needing an oil change and looking around for the best value oil to use, Halfords sell a Vauxhall/Opel 5w30 oil however it dosent meet the ACEA C3 specification which is insisted upon by FIAT.
Any thoughts on this would be interesting, at the moment the cheapest oil I can find meeting the spec is Mobile 1 ESP which works out at about £40 for 5 litres.

I just put in the correct Selina - it's about £45 or £50 for the 5 litres and you change it every 18,000 miles or so.

£10 a year? I'm not going to lose sleep.

isnt it 5w 40 wr selenia? thats wot i used for my mjet
