Hi,

I could be wrong but I think it won't work if you have B+M as both need to be plugged in the same socket !

hi sorry to arise an old post yet again, do you have to have the mp3 player to do this with the aux in, or can it be done with the non mp3 cheapo stereo?

i didnt mention anything bout a car, i asked if the stereo has to be mp3, as mine isnt, still has aux in source otion, and i would like to do this.
I'm sorry but what i understand is that you dont have the car's "music player". If thats the case you just have to get a player that has an aux-in. If you do have "fiat's" stereo and you DON'T have blue&me, just follow the steps in page 1.

just got my lead from mod18 on ebay( search bravo aux and you will find it) which works perfectly (i tried to make my own following a thread about a punto hu but failed. lack of earth?)
i made my own keys using templates on page one (note thickness 1.5mm or 1/6") which worked great. just need to decide location for jack plug.
as my hu is "non-mp3" connecting my sandisk sansa 8gb player gives me almost endless relief from commercial radio dj pap!
thanks diag for the pics, great help

yes its a fiat stereo, but the standard 1, not mp3 or the other sat navy 1. thats what i was asking, can it be done on any of the bravo stereos.

its 1.5m long, cost £20 but is top quality, uses oxygen free copper cable and top quality jack . item no. 230764799287 will take you straight to it.
brought mine out into the cubby hole beneath the heater controls, dead easy

Thank diag, and everyone else for all there comments and thoughts. This makes job much easier to prepare for.
Now I'd like to ask a few questions of my own.
1) Diag shows two products from GM Production. I don't understand why both are needed? Isn't it a case of either the 3.5mm or RCA?
2) I have the B&M version, but doesn't work. When I remove the stereo, if it turns out to be that the convergence unit is faulty (i.e. not loose wire), can I use an AUX cable and if so, how would that work? Could I still install install an AUX cable in replace of the B&M? And how would I access it in the menu?
3) Just looking at GM Products items, I see there is a green connector and a blue connector that both seem to be used for AUX input. Do I need the blue, green or blue/green combined cable?

Hopefully all will come apparent when I remove the stereo :)
Thanks in advance.

got my aux cable fitted, those guys from ebay are really good, 24hrs and it got here, an hour or so and its fitted, great quality too. AMT, u need both plugs combined, 1 wire in 1 plug, and 2 wires in the other, cant remember which way round though, thats how my cable was wen i fitted it. go to ebay for it.

think the third wire is common or ground, but happy to be corrected if wrong. in photos at start of thread, when the connector was seperated, wasnt a third wire added (pink?)
ps ahumbletramp, did you go past gear lever etc and if so was it easy?

Thank you, but I still don't get it. :s I'm sure its obvious.
e.g. If the blue plug is for the RCA (audio), what is the green 3.5mm cable for? They can't both connect to one MP3 player :)

Regarding 3), do/did you guys have B&M installed?

there are three plugs there, bue, green and yellow.. basically blue one is for aux input, green one has usb input, cd changer control etc and yellow one has line level and sub outs...

@aac Are you telling me this piece of [annoying stereo] has a the capacity to feed a sub? I'd take back all the bad things I've said about it, if only I could remove it from the dash!
Ok, so I'm real close to under standing this now. @ahumbletramp said I need both. Is that the case even for just an analog line in, or can I just buy one cable (RCA or USB)?

i gave up with my first idea, and run the wire to the cubby hole on the right of the steering wheel. too mouch stuff in the way and way too much things to be taking apart for puting it in the arm rest
