Hi

I have just bought an 08 Bravo with Xenon headlamps. They are meant to be self adjusting, but when on dip they only light up about 20m of road in front of you, and there is no bleed of the light.
On full beam the lights are amazing, but on dip its almost dangerous driving, especially out of town and in country roads where there are no street lights.

Does anyone else have this problem, or any solutions?

Thanks.

i've got the same problemm, it's not only annoying but as you said it's "DANGEROUS" . Actually the ar is getting serviced in a few days and i'll mention it there !!

I wonder what he thought the "0" position was for.
If the rear tyres were over-inflated, perhaps?

What I've noticed with mine (not xenon, RHD) is that the near-side lamp (left side) seems odd.
Dipped beam looks too low, but main beam looks a bit high.

I get the same problem. Does your left side lamp look like a vertical stick of light as it hits the floor, but the same is not on the right? Sorta looks like the right one isn't working fully, or the left one is working overtime :p

you can't do anything about it, they'll self adjust again to the same level whatever you do.

it's still about 54 times better than the normal bravo headlights. :)

even the high beam is better than the one in the normal headlights because it raises the lowbeam temporarily + high beam instead of highbeam lamp only.

Below is a quote from the Stilo eLEARN but I suspect it's a similar system for the Bravo. It only applies to vehicles fitted with original gas discharge headlamps.

This may explain why you have poor or low aimed light patterns.

Dave.

Valid for versions with:Xenon Gas headlamps

The self-test management logic also has the 'recovery' function: if errors are detected, the system no longer works correctly, and so incorrect orientation of the light beam could dangerously dazzle other vehicles.
The light beam is then positioned low so it cannot dazzle under any circumstances, but permits sufficient illumination for safe driving to a garage on the Service Network.

Valid for versions with:Xenon Gas headlamps

In the case of replacement of a component in the system (headlamp, sensor, etc.), it is necessary to connect up the diagnostic instruments and carry out a self-learning procedure, to automatically reset the system, which must recognise the headlamp correctly algined position from which it must make the appropriate adjustments.
