Hi all, going to look at the above tomoz 2008 model. Is there anything I should look for and are they considered reliable? Thanks in advance.(y)

Just make sure it's been serviced, no dodgey bodywork repairs, etc.

They're very reliable. Some niggles here and there. The EGR valve can become stuck with a buildup of gunk - I think it being cleaned out should be a servicable item - although the later ones have a modified intake to make the sooty stuff from sticking to the valve.

Thanks Hellcat, any experience of them remapped?

Any way to tell by just looking at it?

Well, how many miles it has? check condition on the tyres and brake pad, as we have Mjet owner report front tyres only last 10k miles and pads need to replace after 8k miles.

The multijet is very reliable, argee on EGR's sticking(ive worked for fiat) but this tends to happen when the car is being used for short journeys and when your driving really really slow and not using the turbo.

I disagree with regards to the tyre wear and brake pads, it all comes down to how its driven, i purchased my bravo MJET at 5,000 miles, i have to change the tyres at 17,000 miles( still 2.5 mm left)i only changed them because of my road trip to South Italy which would of clocked up 6,000 miles in total. My cars on 24,000 now and the pads are at 50% and tyres are on 7mm after 7,000 miles.
The MJET has a hell of pull on it and this translates to the tyres, if you drive like a nutter yes 10k yours tyres will be gone.

Just make sure its up to date with the service if its due, ask for previous owner details, it might be a ex demo, there normally thrashed as there taken to the sales guys homes.

Also check the oil level as if its not been serviced the oil is most probably low/empty as its running peroid.

Generally there great mixing a blend of performance (130mph, 9 sec to 60) with a MPG capable of 65. However you'll be looking at 47mpg for mixed driving.

You will like your test drive

Let us know the outcome.(y)

Agree with that. Just had ours serviced prior to a trip to southern Italy. The last set of fronts lasted 30k miles and the pads have just been done at 54k miles (though probably a bit too worn when they came off!)

Well I liked the car and would have bought it, just could not agree a price with the seller. It is quite a quick car but I would have it remapped any idea where to get this done for when I do get one. Never mind keep looking and thanks for the advice.(y)

Pfffft Hellcat....

I used Red Dot Racing for my MJet re-map and totally happy almost 20,000 miles later with 194Bhp! (y)
Ffoxy, if you don't mind me asking what is the cost for the remap?

:) Dont mind at all its no secret.

£199 at a Red Dot Fiat Forum Rolling Road day, recently saw a Post by Mattyk, he found an ad on E-Bay for Red Dot remaps any time for the same price.

Normal price for a "man off the street" is £350.

You get 2 Rolling Road Dynamometer runs, 1 before the re-map, 1 after. (y)

Edit :- Here is a Link to the next FFRR day :-

Hi Ffoxy,

What are so called reliable figures to take out of M-Jet 150 ?
Asking by behalf of a fellow member here in Finland. He has
been also thinking to remap his M-Jet.

194 ;) ( 200 Hp ) and how much for the torque ? I believe
400 Nm is what it has as stock.
Or anybody else who knows ...

Thanks.

Sorry stormi, my car is an 8 valve 1.9 MJet 130 GPS, I'm sure the MJet Bravo boys will be able to help.

As a previous corsspondent has stated in this thread. The 150M-Jet has a serious pull on it. Especially that 3rd gear!  I didn't want to come out of 3rd! :D
