Had in my old Alfa 156 gas shocks and they really were useful in every
way. It´s was small disappointment not to find these in new Bravo.

Has any of the fellow members changed shocks to their Bravos ? Even
in the back it would be nice ... just push the button in the remote and
see the lid pop out ...

Well, opinions thank you :)

Yes, bonnet lifters ! That´s the word.

Have to look better under the hood to find it out. The lifters should not
cost too much either, so with a small investment you could get a fine
working hood opening system.

Aw come on, you surely can't be so weak that you can't even lift your bonnet up yourself?

Get a grip!

A friend of mine installed today bonnet shocks and he said, that it
took about 40.min to install. The holes are there ready, so no drilling
needed.

Will send some pics later on after I have mine in shape.

These pumps were bought from a local autoshop, Biltema. I will info
more when I know more of measures etc. :)

So the pics are from my friends car and hopefully I´ll get mine soon.

What force are those struts? do you think one stru be enough?
Also I noticed the struts are up side down, is there a reason for it?
I remeber the gas strut on my stilo was a lot shorter, I've looked into it before and realise there are no mounting point for the short gas strut, thank you for the pic, it gives me some idea how to do it, might get it done weekend coming, cheers~~

Maybe this is my friends way to install the kit ;) Looks good to me.

I´ll send the info when I know more. He said that all you need is 8mm
+ 10 mm "wrench" ( what´s the name ? ) and a hammer... :D

He said that one lifter might do the job, but better with two.

This would actually be quite helpful I suppose. It would also look awesome watching your bonnet open by its self!

They do look cool when you release the catch and the bonnet open by itself, it also act like a safetly feture, think about if the catch fail, what stopping the bonnet hitting the windscreen? If the strut is in place, it will actually stop the bonnet flip over and hit the windscreen or at least redruce the impact. I know it rarely happen, but I've see cars has their bonnet flip over twice on the motorway~~~

I'd actually suggest that if your bonnet catch came undone on the motorway, if the safety didn't catch it then the bonnet lifters would automatically open the bonnet - the speed of air would then do it's thing and flip the bonet over onto the screen. You try putting your hand out the window at 70mph.. now times that by the size of the bonnet. Them little gas struts are not going to stop it.

Maybe the same type can be used, which are installed in fiat stilo's.
